I don't really know what it means, but to give a little perspective, everyone seems to believe that the 49ers will be pretty good this season including myself.

 

There is always the chance that doesn't end up being the case, but they have proven to be one of the top teams in the NFC the last several years.

 

So far this preseason through 2 games they are 0-2

 

Not only that, they have been outscored 57-3.

 

So... just saying it is preseason, quit crying into your pillows and making bold statements about how good our team/players is or isn't.  We don't know poo yet, it is just the preseason

Using the SF preseason results vs. the common opinion about their potential crossed with the panthers loss in Foxboro is completely unnecessary. Not to mention horribly fragmented and fundamentally flawed.

If you need this type of fractured cross comparison to maintain faith, you are doing it wrong. It should not be this hard.

If the purpose and outcome of preseason scrimmages needs to be explained AGAIN on this board, which it looks like May be necessary, far too many people in here need a retrain in my opinion.

What the naners or anybody else do/does in their scrimmages has absolutely nothing to do with how the Panthers or anybody else does in theirs. This would be true even if the opponents were the exact same.

A key thing you pointed out is that they have been a solid team over the "last several years"....the Panthers have not...we've had one good season over the last several years.

 

Sorry not a valid comparison, the 49ers still have a recent SB appearance...not sure how you figure its a close comparison.
