I am not going to argue that Smith could still be productive for us on the field. I expect him to have a decent year for the Ravens.

When you evaluate players you have to look at not only their production on the field but their salary cap ramifications and team chemistry. If you can replace his production at a far lesser cost why would you not?

Tunnel vision is the norm for a few when it comes to Smith. If you say these following points to yourself a few times every day,things will clear up..Smith was not worth the salary he was due and we couldn't take the money hit. Smith was causing problems that D.G and R.R didn't want to deal with anymore (no one knows what that involved ,but it seems that they had enough). The man is 35 and about done with football. Embrace the team that we have now and the team that s being built for the long haul.
