If his character was really an issue other teams would have cared. They didn't. You don't see teams signing 35 year-old receivers that have baggage.

There is a long list of NFL players with there own unique issues that find jobs year after year...

Excluding everyone but WR...off the top of my head

Terrell Owens was rented at 35 and again at 36

Randy Moss was rented at 35

Ochocinco was rented at 33

And now 89 at 35

Diva WRs are a dying breed in today's NFL...the last wave was all rented

89 has a place still in the NFL....just not on an offense where we currently are.

You are delusional if you think Steve is even remotely similar in character to TO, Randy Moss, or Chad Ochocinco.

He punched out 3 teammates

He has well documented anger issues on and off the field

Even late in his career he caused pointless headaches you don't need from vet players

He was a well documented "let make it about me" guy

I'd say he fits right into the diva class he played with......he was just a Panther so we loved him. If you make plays most is forgiven by NFL fans.....he did and we overlooked. He isn't the playmaker anymore.

2012 he went through the media making life pointlessly hard for his young QB. A me first diva...

Those are the pointless headaches a vet WR shouldn't bring.....but you forget about that huh?
