I think Webb is playing better than any QB on the roster at this point.  And that is not saying much

 

I think he could start the first game and give us an equally good chance of winning at this point

Cam had surgery and missed all the OTA's, his timing with these guys is terrible now, his ankle is still not good and now he just got a knee in the back.  DA is not impressive either.

 

Webb is mobile, throwing well, has more time with the receivers, and we are playing Tampa.

 

If Cam was healthy, there would be no question, but, like I said, "at this point"

 

If Rivera is worried about Cams ankle, then I would pick Webb over DA at this point to start.  That is all.

i realy don't wanna placate this debate any further because it's ridiculous. Cam is rusty, Cam wasn't running with wide open 10 yard gains because it's preseason (part of what gets him into a groove at this stage in his career). Cam wasn't going all out maximizing his entire talent.  Cam rusty>Joe Webb. i can't even believe i've typed this out but i like you.

i'll be worried about Cam's ankle if he is acting tentative in real games. Until then it just looks like he doesn't want to run because it's preseason.

To be honest I was shocked he came back on the field. I was hoping he would go get treatment and fight another day. But that's not in Cam's personality.

If the doctors feel good about him I'd let him play. But they need to like hire a hypnotist or something. That moment when Cam realizes he's in trouble, he needs to throw the ball away, not start scrambling. He's not quick enough to escape the pass rush at this moment.

There is no way you bench Cam in the regular season for "performance". You let him play through it. If you are concerned about his health, maybe consider it. But you don't bench Cam for Joe Webb. Say that out loud, think about how dumb that sounds.

I agree with this, play him for a quarter along with our first team offense (hopefully including Bersin as a 3rd WR). We need all the extra reps we can get in the passing game.

Gotta trust the medical staff and Cam himself on this one. The medical staff should know how to handle this recovery process and Cam should know how he feels. If he can go without risking further injury, then he needs the reps with his new WRs.

My concern is that all summer long all the talk was how far ahead Cam was in his recovery and now we're on the doorstep of the regular season and it *seems* as if he's regressing. I really hope he didn't push it too hard through the summer trying to rush back.
