The starting unit haven't played one meaningful game yet and you want them replaced by practice squad players who made a couple of catches they're suppose to make.

All I'm saying is, wait for the regular season to validate or invalidate your overreaction. Right all you have are veterans taking mental reps and avoiding injury. Cotchery and Avant will get you your 50-60 catches when the regular season start. The coaching staff know it because they've been doing for a long time. That's what they do.

 

OVERREACTION, Think not.  I am pointing out that Bersin has done more to deserve a shot with the first team than Avant or Cotchery.  Whether he actually performs is up to him and Cam.

 

If you are doing mental reps and you are in the game.  Something is seriously wrong.  Mental reps come when you are sitting on the sidelines watching.

 

I like the Cotchery and Avant signing but after 3 pre-season games Cotchery's name has yet to be mentioned and Avant barely. You have a player showing up with the second team.  It is time to see if he can show up with the first team.   If he can, he takes that spot.  Plain and simple.  I could care less if he played pee wee league last year.  If he is producing then he plays.  PERIOD.

 

Last years numbers only give you and idea of what could happen.  Cotchery and Avant could be Hixon 2.0 for all we know. As of now, I see it closer to Hixon than 50-60 catches. 

 

My point, give the man, anyone who is preforming under the top seed, a chance if the top seeds aren't.   I am betting if given the opportunity Bersin will shine.

Why does our wide receiver depth have to be THAT bad for Bersin to get a look? Maybe he just has developed into an NFL receiver. Imagine what Brady or Rodgers could do with Bersin on the field.

Speaking of Bersin, we he be able to wear the #2 jersey come the season opener? I thought league rules state that WRs can only wear jerseys #10-19 and #80-89. Not that the jersey number really matters though.
