--San Diego 24, Arizona 7 -- Cards went 10-6

2011

--NY Jets 17, NY Giants 3 -- Giants won Super Bowl

--Houston 30, San Francisco 7 -- 49ers went 13-3, lost in NFCC game to Giants

--Detroit 34, New England 10 -- Patriots went 13-3, lost in Super Bowl to Giants

--Pittsburgh 34, Atlanta 16 -- Falcons went 10-6, lost in playoffs to Giants

2010

-Green Bay 59, Indianapolis 24 -- Colts went 10-6, lost in playoffs by 1 pt to Jets (who lost AFCC game by 5 pts)

-Baltimore 24, NY Giants 10 -- Giants went 10-6

-Minnesota 24, Seattle 13 -- Vikings went 6-10, Seahawks won NFC West and beat the 11-5 Saints in playoffs

-Denver 34, Pittsburgh 17 -- Broncos went 4-12, Steelers went 12-4 and went to the Super Bowl

The optimist/pessimist take on the game is kind of played out at this point.

the areas where we need work vs. the areas where need help is what I think should be the real debate here.

the team needs a well oiled showing next week and i'd like a win as well. I don't like going into the regular season on sloppy play and a losing streak, regardless of the game's worth.
