People moving to the burbs to escape crime is laughable. Especially the 51 area which has been shady since the 90s.

Maybe my kids won't grow up in a place filled with identical mcmansions and a false sense of security.

Maybe the reason places are bad is because people are lazy and just move instead of making the community or their hood better.

I've always said its a good idea to forgo the well being and safety of your immediate family for the betterment of your "community". What's a robbery or two and you can always patch that bullet hole in the wall. No big deal as long as it doesn't hit your sleeping kid.

My stepdad who lives in Charlotte and has his whole life, and his friend who grew up in Charlotte and lives in nowheresville SC now, came up to visit me last week. We went to Harlem for some soul food for dinner. After eating the friend said he didn't feel comfortable walking around side streets (my stepdad and I wanted to roam around).
