If you valued them you wouldn't live in an area void of individuality and that is a vapid wasteland of tahoes and chain restaurants

But people be raping up in here

Those that insult people who live in those areas because they are "void of individuality" are typically those who can't afford to live in those areas.

We drive through your neck of the woods on occasion just to remind ourselves why we don't want to live out there. It's so bland...but so are you so it's not a surprise that you choose to live there.

We like our little bungalow. I'd rather live in it then have a 3,000 sqft house and drive a hyundai.

We tend to not drive through your neck of the woods....prefer not to get car jacked nor mugged.

But hey....as long as you have that 60 yo bunglow with character then I guess it is worth the price of safety.

Anyways this is about crime and different neighborhoods.

It is everywhere in Charlotte. I remember the guy walking in Foxcroft Eat and was gunned down.

The flying biscuit murder?

Why are people so surprised by it.

Yes, crime is everywhere.

But, crime is lower in certain areas.  Ballantyne has a lower crime rate than Midwood...that is a fact.

If you chose to live in Midwood because you like the diversity and the character of the older homes.....that is all good.

But, some (like myself) chose the area that we live in based on school ratings and safety.....education and safety of my kids are flat out my #1 priority.

Don't insult those who value education and safety over diversity and character.

Panthro and MadHatter are having a douche-off over their neighborhoods in your thread about the near-rape of teenage girl, Arsen. Classic Huddle!

Anyway, everyone who's anyone knows that Dilworth is the place to be. Craftsman style McMansions FTW!

Not at all.

Panthro made a stupid statement that people should not move out in the suburbs trying to avoid crime...because crime is everywhere.

I pointed out that crimeis everywhere...but it is at a much lower statistical rate in certain neighborhoods.

I prefer less crime and better schools to more diversity and "houses with charm".....it is a personal preferance.  And, one that people with kids often make (especially school aged kids).  I will be interested to see if Panthro's opinion changes once having school aged kids.

As someone who attended a ghetto school with constant drug raids and shootings, I can clearly tell ya my kids will be going to private school.
