Norman climbing out of Rivera's dog house

Those who don't learn their history are condemned to repeat it.

Seriously, is The Huddle in denial about Norman? It's as if I'm talking to a battered wife or girlfriend thinking she can change their man.

Judging from what I've seen, Josh hasn't changed one bit. Why are we wasting our time here? Every goddamn off-season, it's the same circle of poo.

"Hey, maybe this is finally the year Norman breaks out. He's too gifted".

(A group of Huddlers agree)

[Three weeks later]

"Cut Norman's scrub ass!!!!!!!"

(The Huddle universally agrees)

Cutting talent because he's a bit of a headcase is stupid. Obviously Rivera sees more in him than you do if he hasn't cut him yet.

"According to J.Person",    That doesn't set bells ringing to anyone else?

Also Norman wasn't just horrible against the Bills.  He was horrible everytime he touched the field. He looked confused.  In pre-season when there aren't so many specific schemes and he seems to play much better.  Probably an over thinking problem.  Hopefully he gets it together, however I am beyond the point of waiting on someone to blossom.  It seems to always happen especially with WR and DB's.    When he plays the regular season like preseason I will be super excited.

The best indicator of the future is the past. You simply can't trust Norman he is way to emotional.

Former Catamount here--I see your point, but I would add one thing--Norman must have talent to still be on the roster.  Freelancing on the field (deviating from the scheme) and his mouth (risking 15 yarders because he thinks the way to avoid being punked on a football field is trash talk--very stupid) have obviously not overcome his potential.  I get the feeling it is close.  I think this year is his make-or-break year.  In other words, he is being given the opportunity to change.

Cam changed for the better.  He was too emotional, just not on the field to the opponent.

I think Norman is frustrated and lacks the ability to logically rationalize that emotion so he melts down when the stress level gets high.  If they can teach him composure and how to stick to the scheme and the mentality he needs to be a productive player, he could be worth saving.  I would guess, however, that he is nearly out of second chances.

tell em. Josh gave up more plays than the Buffalo game... He was HORRIBLE in that regular season KC game. Norman gives up 10-15 yard chunks on the reg. It's really because he played press in college with trail technique. We play zone and off man and he is always just a step away from making the play....it's so close and that's why the staff continues to give him a shot

Its a bad time in the NFL for players like Norman. Due to the NFL's crackdown on unsportsmanlike conduct, Norman's value has never been less.

No doubt about it, If he's an active player Norman will bring us extreme highs and extreme lows.

Let's cut Charles Johnson because he didn't live up to potential his first three years.

Huge difference in circumstances though, and I'm sure you realize that.

Cam was our best player on the field from his first start onward. Norman's production on the field has never been anything beyond mediocre, and that's probably being kind.

If and when Josh "figures it out mentally", my expectations are that he becomes an average CB at best, although with above average ball skills. Some speak of his talent as if he is going to grow into a Revis or Sherman. Personally, I don't see it.

Norman, despite what some here contend, has grown and will continue to grow. Getts and Rivera are proving to be excellent talent evaluators. Why some of us are so quick to permanently emphasize the mistakes made in the growth of some of our team members, I am not sure. Everyone from the journeyman to the Superstar makes mistakes. Once he gets that fire of his under control, some will be doing what so many of our fellow huddlers have done so well in the past...eat big crow!!  Guess what , I even saw Luke miss a tackle or two and so did Davis. Brady sometimes throws interceptions, openly pouts like a small child and will not acknowledge Cam at the end of their last game. Manning looked like sh&t in the last Super Bowl. Let's give him what Gettlevera call a reasonable chance. If some of us were better talent evaluators we might see why he gets the chances he is getting. He will probably be worth it.

If Rivera couldn't trust Norman at all he would just cut him. Since Rivera has not cut Norman so far and many have said that Norman is actually playing well. I am sure Rivera will give him more chances.

Gettlemen is the one who adds and cuts talent....not Riverboat

Rivera seems to give him one shot every year...and when he pulls a Norman he then makes him disappear
