JP is still the best defensive player we have ever had.

 

Peppers had the pure talent to go down as one of the best defensive players in the history of the game.  If he had CJ's motor, he would've been mentioned among the all time greats.

Right now if I had to choose between a pepp in his third year or Luke, I'd go Luke. MLB is so much more important of a position to have an all pro future hall of famer in.

I guess it's been overblown everywhere he went.  The fact that he was an athletic freak is undeniable.  Because he was such an athlete his potential was very high.  Now were the expectations too high?  Quite possibly, but you can't deny his physical attributes.

That's not consistent with what I've heard a lot of people saying. A lot of people think Luke is a luxury and we could or could've done without him, but pass rushers are essential in today's NFL. I don't agree, and I actually agree with you.. I just think it's interesting how so many people think that. And the way they are paid supports that. Top DE's make more than top MLB's. Good for us because Luke won't get paid quite like JJ Watt will.
