Poison Ivy/Sumac skin relief.

Got into some poison ivy/sumac and wanted to know if anyone had some ideas how to dry it up fast.

I wish I could help, I am so allergic to it I don't even have to touch it to get it. but rubbing alcohol is the cheapest way to dry it up.

There's a soap they sell at drug stores that is outrageously priced, but when you have it on your balls, nothing is too expensive.  I can't remember the name of it but it's basically guaranteed to work.  It did for me.

I have had it a few times.  Tried all the over the counter stuff I could find, and nothing really helped.  The prescription stuff is the only thing that worked for me.

In all seriousness, 'drying it out' is a misnomer. You need to calm the allergic reaction with anti-histamines to start and then if that doesn't work and it's still festering after a couple of days step up to some steroidal stuff.

Same here...steroids from the doctor is the only thing that sped up the relief for me.

Buddy of mine is the same way. When were cutting trees,he's always the one to rip it off for us.

Calamine lotion, and a shot in the butt and a steroid round prescribed by my doctor worked for me.
