Charlotte's WSOC TV bumping Bristol race in favor of Redskins game, Panthers not happy about it

Actually you are reading into this way too much. What I am saying boils down to this:

fug the Redskins. fug Redskin fans. It's passed time for this region to be dominated by the Panthers. fug Redskin fans. fug the Redskins. Who gives a flying fug if they played Redskin games here 20 years ago.

Totally love the point of the post.  In SCP speak, it is time for Panther fans to poo or get off the pot.  Panther fans need to get territorial and shame the influx of fans from other regions into full conversion or have a big cup of STFU.  Love Panther fans getting Loud and Proud and In Your Grill!

Would a Pittsburgh station that did not have a stake in an NFL broadcast dare to bump a Pirate broadcast or drunk arm-wreslting to show a preseason game of the Browns or Eagles or Ravens?  in prime time?

Not sure about the part where the Panther organization is "upset".  I agree that games of other teams are shown in competing markets all of the time but it is a different case with the Washington radio and TV broadcasts here for many years prior to expansion.  The Panthers have invested a lot of back room time into reversing those trends and staking their territory and I totally see them speaking with management at WSOC to make their irritation known.

As long as we're not playing, I hope they show every Redskins broadcast in Charlotte.  Maybe their transplant fans and whoever else is watching can compare and contrast that garbage to the playoff team that plays 10 minutes down the road.  Maybe we can even tailor some advertising to them and the rest of the NFC East fans around here.  "Hey everyone there's a local team in a division that has to earn their playoff spot with more than 8 wins!  No issues with racism/imminent rebranding/vomit uniforms. AND our quarterback has knees and we didn't give up the next 16 years of the draft to get him!"

Old white people like their overtly racist team names. So you people with a modicum of common sense will just have to deal with it....because you know...it's a tradition....and like old and stuff. Not unlike racism itself.

And maybe one day the animal rights activists will say "Panthers" is offensive to some animals. You gonna agree with them?

If they are joined by a large group of Panthers that can tell me they find it offensive & explain why I'll not only agree but I'll be leading protests.

We better learn how to speak RAWR. Not sure how many regional dialects Panthers have.

Most people over 30 in the Carolina grew up Skin fans or something else. Until the people who were legitimately raised as Panther fans grow up.....you will still see this type stuff

Doesn't mean I have to like it. The ass hat in the Bob Griffin jersey at a Panther game can suck it.

incredibly lowbrow move from WSOC - but the fact that they are bumping one of the biggest races of the year in a different team's NFL market really shows how strong the NFL product is. Like I said, it's most def a lowbrow, busch league move....but they are doing it because people are going to watch.

this should piss panthers fans off.

I suppose I don't understand why this upsets the Panthers or Panthers fans. NASCAR fans sure. Why does it upset the Panthers if they aren't showing Washington games over Panther games.

A local Charlotte TV station in the shadow of BofA Stadium has paid for the rights to televise the games of a team that competes with the Panthers for wins, merchandise sales, market share, and fans. That is why it gets under my craw.
