Roster Projection - Preseason Week 3

It looks like I was wise to leave Kenjon Barner off of my roster last week. After speaking with Jonathan Jones on the last night, he almost has me convinced the Panthers keep Joe Webb, mainly as trade bait. Could be, but I'm not there yet.

I now have Josh Thomas over Josh Norman. Norman's bone headed penalty drew the rage of coach Rivera. I like Josh Norman, but I feel like there is no more room in the Ron Rivera Doghouse for him. Sometimes players just can't get out of their own way. Norman can prove me wrong Friday night, and I hope he does.

Now that 10 players are allowed on the practice squad, I have a feeling a few more offensive line prospects from other teams may be on it.

Some of these tight positions, such as RB, you have to think about special teams. With your current roster, only Brown can return both kicks and punts and Cason can only return punts. This is why I believe Fozzy makes it. That and plus he has looked like the best RB after Stewart and Williams.

As far as Norwell, I'm not sure we want to risk him getting picked up by another team while on the PS. His ability to play all positions on the line besides center I think gives him a roster spot.

I can see Boston going to IR. Not sure why it hasn't happened yet. I kept him on my roster because I'm not sure what the plan on him is and also no one else has stepped up. Both Lester and Russell have looked equally bad.

I also can see Frank getting traded with Wes Horton stepping up. Until that happens though, I'll keep him on mine. I don't really like to make too many predictions because a lot can happen during final cuts. I just like to work with what we currently have.

And even though Norman lost his cool last game, he is still our 4th/5th best CB on the team. Thomas and Godfrey are terrible.

Really hard to argue either of these.   Once you reach that 53.  Every team is looking at every other teams roster of PS and waived players.

 

I would imagine that ever preseason game there is someone from just about every other NFL team.  Scouting potential steals.

No point really. Lets be realistic, he is a 4th round rookie who has missed OTA, Training Camp, and Preseason.

 

 

If we are counting on him..... we are worse off at safety than I thought.

We are so deep at DE, and other teams know it. I feel like there will be a trade at some point. Hell, Addison is a baller and could get us a late rounder at least.

I really dont wanna let Addison go tho. I kno with the addition of Ealy, and Horton progressing, we could let him go. Especially since Alexander seems to be safe. I still feel meh about it. However, i just keep thinking there is a good chance Getts grabs another DE in next year's draft anyway. Haha! So why not......for the right price of course.

It could be they played Wes Horton more early in the last game to make sure other teams had plenty of tape of him going against legit NFL players.
