Eagles trade for Barner

I was a Barner fan when he was drafted. His Oregon highlights made him look really promising. But he never looked like even a marginal NFL back when he hit the field, because every time he got contact, he hit the field. I wish him luck in Philly or wherever, but he had no future here.

more like...

Eagles GM: "Hey Dave, what do you want for Barner?"

Gettleman: "Well, we spent a 6th Round pick on him, then we paid him $600,000 and we gave him a year of NFL-caliber coaching, so nothing less than a 5th Round pick will be fair."

Eagles GM: "Dave we just need a body for our last two preseason games. We aren't going to give you anything for that. How about this, if he does end up making our 53, then we'll give you a 7th Round pick?"

Gettleman: "What about a 7th Rounder if he doesn't make your 53, and a 6th Rounder if he does?"

Eagle GM: "No. A 7th Rounder, but only if he makes our 53. Take it or leave it."

Gettleman: "Okay"

Yes, but they wanted him.

Kelly will put Barner in a position to succeed as he did in Oregon.

Shula was simply unable to do so. Running Barner between the tackles is as intelligent as running DWill their.

Good luck Barner in Philly and good job DG to get something for a player we were unable to capitalize on.

That's not our offense. You have to be able to run even when the defense knows you're running here. Kelly's offense is philosophically different.

As time goes on, the more it looks like Chip Kelly has a screw loose.

1.)Did you see the Pats game last week? His defense was gassed after being on the field for the 1st 20 minutes of the game and he comes out and runs a hurry up, no huddle three and out. He's like Chud on meth or a bizarro Shula or some sh!t.

B.) if you're going to wear out your own defense and get into shoot outs, you might want to hang on to a Deshaun Jackson.

III.) the Kenjon trade and spending half your draft on your old college players, plus paying Riley KKKooper like he's an elite receiver.

Four.) a grown man that goes by "Chip." Not as ridiculous as "Jimbo", but close.

The prosecution rests...Chip Kelly = whack job. Glad we didn't hire him.

That's the interesting thing.

Chip Kelly's offense is a power running game.

Weird formations at the goal line does not define a philosophy.

The Iggles ran the ball more than we did last year and were far more successful at it.

They wer also top 10 passing to our bottom of the league.

Kelly will dominate the weak NFC East for the foreseeable future.
