no GM is happy about taking a guy in the 6th R, paying him $600,000, giving him a year of NFL-caliber coaching, and then having to give him up for a 7th R pick (conditional on whether he makes the Eagles' 53)

yes, could say that at least it is better than taking a guy in the 6th R, paying him $600,000, giving him a year of NFL-caliber coaching, and then having to cut him and getting nothing...but getting nothing for him might be better than sending him to the team most likely to get the best out of him, especially since it is an NFC rival that we could very likely be battling for a playoff spot this season and years to come. Maybe better to just cut him for nothing and let him go through waivers and keep him away from the Eagles

Sorry GJ but you are wrong. We took the Broncos 5th round pick last year and they got nothing in return. There is no expectations for a guy after the 3rd round. They have to earn a spot and if they don't you move on.

Green Bay just traded Jerel Worthy for a 6th. Was a 2nd rd pick.

Its not a 6th downgraded... Its a guy who is going to be cut for a 7th.

Barner has proven after a year that he will have minimal impact in the Panthers system.

This is a win win for both. We get a pick for a player that we probably would've cut and Philly gets a player now, that they're familiar with and can get a jump on getting him some playing time before regular season...
