Bill belichick and his delusions

How is it a delusion? Lafell has a chance to succeed however so small it is a chance. I read more about this and it basically says Bill is going to use Lafell in the tight end sets because of his skills. Also what do you expect a coach to say about a player? Coaches always talk up their players. I never hear Rivera say "Hey, that Lafell fella sucks, and he can't catch a cold." Bill is a professional coach and that means saying crap like this to the public.

Watch Lafell go for 1500 yards and 11 td's. The huddle would implode LOL.

I am kinda rooting for it just for the entertainment value. I am not a lover or hater of BL. It was a business decision to let him go.

Brady will be good for LaFell, I see him doing much better in NE than he did here.

That's the problem with huddlers/fans, they don't seem to understand the concept that players may play better in different situations on different teams, doesn't mean we should have kept him.

LaFell is the type of WR that needs people constantly pushing him and holding him accountable. I see him slipping when no one is watching him, and everyone is just expected to do their job. We will see but again, I think he will do much better in NE and that's ok.

Stop trashing ex panther players just for the hell of doing it or jealousy. There's a good chance Lafell looks a lot better in NE, as a lot of WRs have. Bottom line, he had way to high of a price tag for keeping him around here for what we want to do.

Why start a thread over a player who doesn't matter to us anymore? Aweful thread, get your panties wedgie out from your ass OP. He's gone so forget about him

I don't think it had anything to do with money.

I didn't want him back at any cost because I felt he would get in the way of evaluating young guys (older PS guys like King/Bersin, draft guys like Benjamin).  LaFell is a good blocker and is very familiar with our system so he would have a big leg up on new guys trying to move up the depth chart.

My biggest gripe with LaFell isn't even the drops or costly times he misses his normally routine blocks.  Its based purely on the fact that I don't see any further potential in him.  He doesn't stretch the field, he doesn't win jump balls, he's not special after the catch and he doesn't have any particular knack for getting open consistently.

LaFell might have an increase in production with the Patriots, but I don't see his ability growing any further than it has here.

I think Huddle sentiment is bit extreme on how much LaFell sucks. He was always decidedly average here, which honestly is a big step up for the Patriots receiving corps.

Being the in the Boston area, the Patriots homers are very high on LaFell, mostly because the rest of their receiving corps is either always injured (Gronk) or like 4 ft tall (Edelman). They think he'll be a bit target and a reliable red zone threat. I have a hard time believing he'll suddenly become a redzone threat that he never was here, but sometimes different systems really do bring the best out of players.
