Jake Delhomme on the Mac Attack - Panthers have more than enough weapons for Cam

Cam has done an excellent job with learning how to be a leader and progressing more and more each year though. And I agree with you on smitty too. He will always be me favorite player, but maybe his departure is exactly what cam needed. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense, the offensive leaders of this team were gross, smitty, and cam to a lesser degree. Gross retired so it's perfectly logical to let smitty go and give cam complete control.

I have no argument with it.

It absolutely should be Cam's team now.

Jake's is the only jersey I ever bought (if you don't count the one with my name on the back.  Yes, I was that guy.)

Did anyone know that the year Jake was cut he was one of if not the highest paid player in the NFL for that year.  We had to pay off his contract at about 16 million and then he took the Browns to the cleaners for 7 million.  So, he had a round a 1 year, 23 million dollar contract.  Not bad for the twilight of his career.

People that have been around long enough know I was a critic of Jake's play. One thing I never questioned was his professionalism. Every day at camp, Jake was one of the first to the field, leading the guys to the next round of drills, no matter what. He never took for granted that he was a starting QB on a NFL team, mainly because he knew what it was like to fail. In some ways I think that really benefits a player later in his career.
