A new book claims that Jerry Jones had the card to draft Johnny Manziel in his hand before son Stephen took it away (link)

 

The Cowboys have denied it (link)

 

But Jones himself didn't (link)

 

That could have been the absolute greatest circus in sports history, and I would have put away a lot of popcorn watching :lol:

I'm confused? Would Jerry hand deliver this 'card' to the podium from the Dallas war room? Kinda defeats the purpose of having cards if you are on the other side of the country.

 

I'm guessing they have a 'final decision' card in Dallas, and they convey what's on that card to the runner in New York.

 

Not sure if that's how all teams do it, but it seems reasonable. 

 

If you just did it by word of mouth, someone could conceivably screw up.

He's a big Manziel fan, so much so that criticism makes him borderline irrational (check the other thread).

      I like how they were about to punt the ball right before the two minute warning before being like... oh fug, this'll be too obvious we gotta try a FG then ole boy skulls one that never got more than about 12 feet off the ground. LOL!
