Who's the 'Prototype' for the New Age QB? Newton or Luck?

If he runs as slow as manning wow. I would expect like around a 4.65 from him

He's slow.  I honestly expect 4.8.  Though, it also wouldn't surprise me if he comes up with an excuse not to run at the combine.  It'd be my advice if I was his agent.

If you can throw well you can be a QB. They all come in different sizes and speeds but the one thing that links them together is the ability to throw. There isn't really a prototype. You can be a Peyton manning/Brees/Brady guy or a Luck/Rodgers type or a Cam/RG3/Kap.

regardless of speed I believe he's going to be one of the best in the league in the future but If you're right and he has no escapability in the nfl it's a bad thing for that

check out these highlights he seems to be perfectly fine getting out of the pocket to throw the ball. So maybe he isnt a rusher but he seems to have the ability to run out create time and make accurate, very accurate passes on the run.

Yeah, he has good mobility in the pocket and can make some plays outside of the pocket with his feet, he's just not a running threat.  Kind of like a Jay Cutler type in that regard.  Cutler isn't fast and he isn't much of a runner, but he can move well enough to make some things happen if the play breaks down.

Cam gets the Romo treatment.                 Romo has had dang good numbers most of his career....yet,  is normally on the outside looking in where "experts" and fans discuss top 10 qbs.

I think in Romo's case it's deserved.

(and I'm really not being a Panther homer or a Cowboy hater when I say that)

Yeah, Romo is a really good QB when you just look at the stats, but if you look at the way he makes game deciding errors time and time again almost like clockwork, it's hard to consider him an elite QB.  Stats?  Yes.  Results?  No.

Early in his career, Cam had plenty of what should've been game winning drives only to go to the sideline and watch the D give it away.  We basically had a Tony Romo defense.  Glad that got fixed.  That was maddening to watch.

Cam has progressed, grown and left that old profile behind.

I don't think Romo ever will.

Why?  Because that's who he really is.

I think it's more that our defense is no longer giving away games and Rivera isn't quite as conservative.  I don't think Cam has really changed in that regard.  He was always pretty doggone good in the clutch, we'd just score too fast and Rivera/McDermott would go crazy conservative on D and we'd end up giving the game away.

Oh I think he did, though I acknowledge those other factors are true as well.

Biggest change I see in Cam is he's no longer a fast starter doing a slow fade as the game goes on.  These days he looks much more like a prototypical gunslinger.  He might get off to some slow starts (like this past weekend) but he'll be clutch at game's end.

I'm very happy to see the change.

U mean they hate his confidence. Can believes in his God given talent. And the difference is, he got tons of it. There are to

those who don't have half his natural gifts that r more arrogant than confident. Two of them come to mind who played last night..LOL

I mean, I guess theyre bitter that they didnt get to grow up and be an astronaut or whatever mommy told them.

Both Luck and Newton are the future of the QB position. Not Manziel. Not Bridgewater. No whoever else.

The big, rangy, athletic QB is going to be the norm before long. Even Jacksonville is acknowledging it, with Bortles.

Neither Luck or Newton are more superior than the other. They're both excellent in their own rights.

Point of the thread is to tell you that Cam is in fact better. I hear you about Luck, I dont watch him play, dont care.
