Who's the 'Prototype' for the New Age QB? Newton or Luck?

Playoff defense is a different animal, with only the best teams participating. Of course there would be more errant throws, especially with Seattle. That doesn't prove anything.

mmm there's plenty of teams that go to the playoffs with bad defenses. Maybe not a majority, but plenty do.

Easy you're getting really worked up over a trivial conversation.

I only brought up the playoffs, cause you conveniently stated you hadn't seen bad, wild throws on your limited Monday Night schedule.

However, during the playoffs last year,  many fans here on the Huddle--just like you--who microanalyses Newton's throws in a vacuum--had to admit many QB's do make wild throws (regular season, playoffs, etc.) on the regular. This is why I asked (and I'm sure you watched the playoff's).

And no, Newton didn't throw those wild throws, against those same playoff defenses those other wild throwing QB's did. So your retort continues to be factless.

Enjoy your day.

When did I say that I had not seen bad wild throws on Monday night games?

What do you think are Newton's flaws? Do you watch every Panther game?

Hey may have avoided the actual race topic, but after this string of comparison's, what is the reader to think?

Luck wears his hat forward; Newton turns his hat to the back. Luck went to a top academic school and Cam went to an SEC school. Luck runs to the sideline after touchdowns and Newton does his Superman celebration after touchdowns. Luck is Midwest and Newton is Hollywood. Luck is scruffy with a beard and Newton is clean cut with a bright smile. Luck is country music and Cam is hip hop

Aggressive responses only diminishes your points. You don't have to attack someone who generally was just stating what he thought. He wasn't being aggressive just portraying his thoughts. No need to be so rude when you could make your point without it.

I wasn't being aggressive.

The poster was being obsitnate, cause he/she got caught in a quandary, so only prolonging an argument.

The poster already admitted earlier, they may not now due to lack of games, but kept on arguing.

I was done with them. That was my sign off.

Note: Your post to me can be considered aggressive (unnecessary internet policing) as well. FYI

You can pretty much kill the comparison argument by asking "how many QBs in the league are as physically imposing as Cam?" The answer is none. There has never been a qb like Cam. Ever. Think about that for a sec. There will be/have been several QBs like luck. There is only one Cam fuging Newton.

He's bigger and faster than most linebackers and also a good many defensive ends and runs like a gazelle.

If he actually lifted heavy he could easily reach 270 lbs. Oh yeah and he has a howitzer for an arm. He's one of a kind. Luck is not.

That could certainly be the case. Unless we have someone counting the wild throws of Cam and all the other top QBs we can't really make an exact comparison. It could be that as a fan I "feel" like Cam is making more wild throws, but he's really isn't.

If you could refer to this post before saying he was continuing his point. And yes you were being aggressive by saying "lord help you" which is insulting and then saying "Your retort continues to be factless" is also a dig at him. Then to top it off you end the conversation by saying "Have a nice day" which after basically insulting him you are stating that your point supersedes anything he could possibly say.

Luck is white and majority of people who follow football are white. Plain and simple.

Same reason that scrub Manziel is very popular. There is nothing wrong with that but it's still pathetic. At the end of the day Luck can't be compared to Cam in talent and history will show it.

Manziel, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Luck, same story. Same narrative, same nonsense and still pathetic. But it makes a people proud.

I'm black and I think Luck is very talented.  That's just me though.  I obviously love Cam as well and hope he becomes elite sooner than later.  However, I absolutely don't think Luck and The Golden Calf of Bristol/Manziel should be in the same sentence, ever.

If I'm picking 2 QBS to watch closely the next decade it would be Cam and Luck.

They're both going to be great QBs and play for a long time. They have completely different playing styles and personalities and any comparison of them other than they both will be great is quite stupid.

I don't think their playing styles are that different quite honestly.

They throw the ball similar (though Cam throws it harder), with similar team responsibility and throwing mistakes. And Luck can run as well, while Cam just does it better.

I think RG3 and Kaep are more dissimilar to Cam than Luck or an Eli (particularly the throwing aspect with Manning).

However, the media has a way of grouping black, running QB's together (yes we know The Golden Calf of Bristol and Manzeil are "running QB's"), instead of actually discussing their play, style on the field.
