Philly Brown Isn't Satisfied

So many people on this site refuse to see cause and effect.  We had a WR who was not a great teammate and no other receiver could flourish.  Now we have mentors and all you continue to hear is the camaraderie/relationship building that it takes for young in-experienced guys to grow.  Because of this change, our WRs will begin to develop better over the years.

 

To my previous post: Ironically, instead of the national media presenting it as, "The Panthers turn the team over to Cam Newton, didn't feel last years receivers were so great". No No. Instead, they make it sound as if they're flummoxed why the Panthers would jettison their entire receiver core, while failing l to mention their leading receiver's still on the team. SMH

The other surprise has been Lafell's badmouthing of our practice set-up and team structure.  I mean WRs all around the league used to come to Proehl's complex to work with him.  To me it was more than one bad apple with a bad attitude.  Who knows how toxic that situation had become?  Tough decisions had to be made and I'm glad we finally have one of those GMs now.

 

Yeah, I was never one of those Panther fans that thought the Steve Smith situation was best for Cam. Smith benefited more from that relationship, and god bless him. However, he would have kept pushing the envelope if GMan didn't arrive.

 

Yeah, I think Lafell, didn't like the constant criticism. But the problem was he brought it upon himself. He wasn't a gamer and dropped some key balls (remember that bomb/certain TD Cam threw him in KC or Arizona that went right through his extended arms), and cause many interceptions with his tips--not fighting for position?

 

I wish well both on their respective teams. However, I'm not sure it's going to work out for either of them the way they desire when they bullets start flying.

He is the best chance we have at getting decent returns.  Unless someone better on another team is cut hes our man this year.

You are going to have some mistakes from him.  After all he is a rookie but his potential IMO is through the roof.

 

Give him some time and he'll be as good or maybe even better than Ginn

Philly has to make the team. Give Underwood the boot. He doesn't bring very much to the table, IMO.

Not gonna lie. I was disappointed when he bobbled that kick, and it's not something that I think should be glossed over. But like Right Hand Man said: Brown may get the job by default. I just hope that if he does, he makes a better accounting of his hands once the regular season begins. Bobbled kicks lead to many "bad returns".

I just hope that if he does, he makes a better accounting of his hands once the regular season begins. Bobbled kicks lead to many "bad returns".

Don't think I glossed over it. I at least asked him about it.

It sounds like it was a learning experience for him... Kind of what preseason is all about.

Brown strikes me as a bright player that is self motivated. I am pulling for him.

Guys like Downtown Philly Brown, Bersin, Brandon Williams, these are guys I love pulling for and hope they succeed.  Give them a sliver of an opportunity and see how far they take it.

He did have the drop, but he also quickly corrected himself, and outside of that he looked alright.

 

I'm pulling for the guy, we really need someone capable back there, and I can only hope he is the guy for the job.

I agree I just thinks he needs repetition to become comfortable and to ensure he is bringing the ball in without bobbling

I see the kid at least making the practice squad. I hope to see him get more chances to return punts because that's what we need right now. I do like the fact that we have Avant and Cotchery to teach KB, Philly, Lucas and King. This is something that we probably wouldn't have with Smith,Lafell and Ginn.
