What do you guys make of the Cam haters still out there today?

Say you're not 'that guy'.  Prove it.

You tell me: Did Cam play badly and contribute to those losses in his first two seasons or not?

Yes or no only.  No spin doctoring allowed.

Try to spin it and you're as much as admitting I pegged you correctly.

Please. Now you're making me laugh.

Now you're coming off as a juvenile here.

There's no problem in criticizing Cam or his mistakes. The problem is: Giving Cam an overt amount of the blame, when there's obviously more to it. And this is what this fan base (even here on the Huddle) has done for years.

Now if you choose to Give Cam more of the blame, than Rivera, Chud, Shula etc.. OK. That's fine, and your right. However, in turn don't assail others, who feel that others were/are more responsible (the defense blowing leads, offensive philosophy to close out games, individuals players, etc.). It's their right as well.

Case in point: I find it ironic, that it was mentioned the defense blowing leads, which is an undisputed fact! Correct? However, instead of you accepting that, you made the excuse about them being tired (which is situational, conjecture based, regardless of it's possibilities and potential reality). So who's making excuses? SMH

Now let's move on.

Just what I expected.

Thanks for proving my point.

I suspect your likely response will be to throw even more spin at it, but it won't matter.

Speaking of that guy, didn't he make some kind of guarantee that Cam wouldn't be in the league 3 years from then meanwhile The Golden Calf of Bristol would be on his way to multiple Super Bowls?  Said if it didn't happen then he would show up to the Bucs home game in his underwear with a Cam Newton jersey and a sign that says 'Carolina rules, Tampa Bay sucks' or something like that.

Well... it's been 3 years.

Dude was still celebrating his "prediction" after we started 0-2 last year.

Jim Folsom

And the crickets chirp while sCam starts 0-2 yet again. To be fair, the Seahawks are a pretty good team, but E. J. Manuel in his second start beats your boy? Who could have seen that coming? Oh yeah...me.

Don't worry guys, once you're 1-7 and out of contention he'll start winning just enough to keep you hoping next year will be different.

Then he seems to have gone silent after that.

My take?

They are either jelious or have reasons for disliking him that have nothing to do with football.

I'd be willing to bet most outside of the Panther fanbase even know enough about him to make any sort of informed decision.

Consider: If I asked you whether or not Matt Schaub was being treated fairly by the media, would you know?  Would you honestly care?

Heck, plenty of people barely have in-depth knowledge of their own favorite teams, much less others.

I think when talking about people like that it's goes to a broader issue.

It really is disgusting how much absolute hate some individuals can have for an athlete. Like I don't much care for some teams in the NFL, mostly our division rivals, but taking it that far, and holding that kind of grudge is just crazy. He seems like a racist honestly, call it what it is.

You would unfortunately just be following the media narrative then.

As for Kaepernick, quite frankly the poo I've read about him here is no better than the ignorance we've read about Cam from others.

Naw not really for me. Aaron Rodgers doing the discount double check in a playoff game on us would piss me off the same.

Not sure this deserves a response, cause you can't be this obviously daft.

It's the middle of the day you know. Nonetheless, I'll bite/take the bait (this last time):

When Newton throws a dying quail to an open Harstock at the of the Seattle game (putting aside, what may have occurred up until that point). That's on Newton. That was his fault and no one Else's. Agreed, capisce/kapish?? No argument there.

However, when RR calls a inexplicable TO, giving New Orleans a win, and the Panthers a heartbreaking loss. When Newton has a 3 TD's, no INT's against Minnesota, and loses in heartbreaking fashion. When the defense allows sucky Tampa Bay and Josh Freeman to march down the field and score a game winning TD with less than 60 secs left (for seemingly the umpteenth time, and many, many others), you can't place all or most of the blame on Newton. That's the point, take away.

Face it. The defense had a notorious issue (whether they were rated good or bad, up until about a third of the way through in 2013 season) of giving away leads. Don't see how you can place that on Cam, when the record is well known by Panther fans.

As Red said; you saw the games (which is why I was loathe to respond to you regarding something so simplistic). I'm not going to go through the various and plentiful blunders by Rivera, The Defense, OC, etc., which cost the Panthers games. You should know. Now, has Cam cost the Panther games while not being the best closer at times? Absolutely. We've seen it, such as the end of that Seattle game. It was a bad throw, period! However, there were many other times, when he did close, and the defense couldn't hold, and/or Rivera made some stupid decisions anyway. That's fact/my contention.

Is Cam better now in dealing with those situations. Yes. However, that's also because the coaches have placed him in a better situation as well (along with Cam's growth). It'll be the same this year with the addition of KB, Cotchery, Avant, Dickson, etc.. We'll see Cam's red zone completion go up even more, helping the Panthers finish off drives and games.

The end.

Which is why Charlotte can be so frustrating as a market. You've got loudmouths from NY, OH, PA, MA, etc calling our shows and bloviating about our team and our players. These people think they are experts because they "grew up a Skins fan" so they feel obliged to opine on something they have no business opining on. Do I call talkshows when I'm traveling in Chicago and talk about what a jerk Jay Cutler is? No, it's not my place. The transplants and haters need to learn their roles, sit down and shut up.

That was his fault and no one Else's (though D'Angelo had a critical fumble earlier, that could have won the game outright, along with the defense giving up almost the entire field to Wilson for a TD previously). Agreed, capisce/kapish??

However, when RR calls a inexplicable TO, giving New Orleans a win, the Panthers a heartbreaking loss. Not to nitpick but the Deangelo fumble and Cam's short pass in the endzone occurred in two different seasons. The fumble in 2013 and the flubbed pass in 2012.

Not to gloss over the very solid points you're making here, but did you really just use the word 'bloviating'?
