What do you guys make of the Cam haters still out there today?

I am honestly shocked by the number of callers to talk radio today calling for Cam's head. What the flying hell? Cam is coming off his second Pro Bowl appearance in three years, an ankle surgery, and he's never looked good in preseason that I can remember. Yet there are people all over Facebook and WFNZ just GNASHING THEIR TEETH today over how he played. And he played FINE after the first quarter.

Are we just going to have to learn to deal with this crap for the duration of his career? If you found yourself ripping Cam today and were one of the people calling for Derek Anderson to start, I heard the Ferguson PD is hiring.

Do I really need to bring up a certain someone guaranteeing Cam would not lead a single comeback drive last season after the Cardinals game?

*cough*

Figured someone would bring that up. Apples and oranges....I was wrongly convinced Cam couldn't do those because he had never done it before, no prior evidence. People freaking out like Cam can't throw a pass after last night? Give me a break.

Maybe I just need new Facebook friends.

I think that admitting that you made a very foolish assessment instead of trying to justify your reasoning for making such an asinine comment would help and that search for friends.

As for the Cam scrutiny, since when has anything intelligent been expected from talk radio? Conflict creates ratings, which fuels advertisement sales, which generates revenue. They aren't looking for the opinion of rational folks.

I hate to bring up racism but I feel like a lot of people around here don't give him the credit he deserves simply because of his skin color.

Yup, let's just be honest here. A lot of so called panther fans tolerance for failure from Cam is much lower than it would be if Cam was white. And it's sad people are like this.

    • It's sort of funny you guys were so bad with 3s tonight about the same time Silver and LeBron both say the game is broken due to too many 3 attempts. The NBA is almost unwatchable. No defense, refs call fouls for almost anything, guys care more about looking pretty on the court than playing tough, etc. Today's NBA is putrid.
    • It's gotten more complicated with the change of CBS and FOX no longer being exclusive AFC/NFC partners From a home team perspective, the NFL requires the home market (which is typically the broadcast reach of the station airing the game) to carry the game. For times where there is a conflict (let's say, FOX Charlotte is airing some major news event) then the broadcast will go to a local station that FOX Charlotte has an arrangement with -- like the CW, maybe.  Only in super-rare instances would local FOX throw the game over to a major competitor like to WSOC/ABC. But it could happen This is how games that are "exclusive" to streaming will end up being broadcast by a local channel in those home team markets -- because the NFL wants the local market to be able to see the game.  Amazon TNF games will always be available on some local channel in those teams' markets, for example. Or the upcoming Netflix games For TV markets that do not have a local team, then the local station gets to choose from what's available. Ideally, they'd choose a regional game or one that is close in the conference.  In Atlanta, for example, we would typically get one of the NFC South matchups for times when the Falcons aren't playing.
