i don't understand his argument when were coming off a 12-4 season with d will as the starting running back, by his theory stewart would have led us to 16-0 and a superbowl because he's THAT much better

Our traditional run game was weak last year...yet you are spinning that season as proof of something?

Stewart makes us a better O. He could break his leg tomorrow so you need options. But even the announcers who rarely watch us called out that fact right before Stewart made Williams look like Kenyon.

I remember just before the chud o Rama offense, Stewart had the highest yards per Cary of any running back in the history of the nfl except for some dude named Jim brown, a guy named deangelo Williams and some one else. Since then there has not been a right guard to play for any length of time, a probowl center was lost for a year. A rookie left guard that was out his second year.

The Panthers use a power running game.  Stewart fits that mold more than Williams.

I hate when salary issues play any role in roster/depth chart decisions.

 

I understand why teams have to do that sort of thing.  I just hate it.
