I already said Newton was a non traditional rush threat....still best rush threat on team. His production backs it.

Age is always a factor....people still want to talk like he is the 2008-2009 guy. He isn't.

Stewart has been hurt....only reason his stats don't show it. Rivera has already proven he prefers 28 if he can get him healthy.

Present day 28 if healthy is better than present day 34 being healthy....not sure why people fight the obvious.

False for one cam is the best running threat because he's DUEL THREAT apples and oranges

And back to "if" land we go d will age has nothing to do with this point blank, yes he may have lost a step from 2008 but we also don't have a dominating o line like in 2008

Rivera showed that once and how'd that pan out? Amazing that you know for sure a healthy stew is worlds better then d will seeing as both have yet to hit the field besides preseason and again in 2011 d will out rushed stew, stew surpassed him in receiving but that's about it

This is not a d will vs stew debate this is a "cra thinks stew should not split carries with d will" which doesn't make sense, carries should be split like before 15 to one 12 for the other and vice versa depending on the team and if Shula sees something one our rb can exploit that the other can not

Quarterback or not....he is still our best aspect of our ground attack. Yards, TDs, first downs, etc.

Age does matter. 34's age makes him a lesser version of what he once was and why he now isn't the best option with a healthy roster.....same logic made him the best option in 2008.

I said our rushers....Cam, Stewart, Tolbert, Williams should not get an EVEN split.

Like before? This isn't 2009. Before doesn't presently exist....now we have Cam and Tolbert. Williams and Stewart don't get 15 a piece....Cam and Tolbert need the ball. Even split between 4 means the best options don't touch it enough.

In 2011 28 played the highest percentage of plays of all NFCS RBs. He made our offense the best bc he was the best overall player....Williams came in and did one job primarily. In 2012 Rivera just ended and benched 34 in name as well.....injury not play got Williams back

I've already stated they don't need to be even just split cam rushes don't count so get him out of the discussion, Tolbert will get majority of his carries in the red zone, stew as well but him and Williams should split any other time........what's so hard to understand about that him being 31 has nothing to do with anything he's not getting carries like in 2008 and he hasn't shown a significant drop off since 2011.....give me a good reason why d will and stew shouldn't split carries not some bs about being 31 or rivera's decision 3 years ago or the ex generation that Stewart is miles better in the run scheme

lol...okay, well let's erase Cam from the rush equation and go back and look at our team rushing numbers then the past 2 years. You can't just erase Newton.

30 team rush attempts. Give me the split of what you want to see. Newton has to be included bc he always carries us to make us look decent

I'll have to dumb this down I guess, majority of cams aren't planned so those should count as rushing attempts.........because there not in the game plan....get it

Plenty are....and regardless they count. Which means it cuts into offense snaps/opportunities

so again, 30 rush attempts in a game.....how do you want them split ideally. 4 rushers. Simple question.

2013 - Carolina averaged 30 rush attempts per game (includes WR attempts)

Newton averaged 7.

So 23 rush attempts a game.....how do you want 23 split between Stewart, Tolbert, and Williams. 7-8 IMO is too few for Stewart if healthy given he is the best RB on the team. That is my only point, an even split doesn't give your best runner the touches he should get. Tolbert has to get his to take the short yardage pounding off Cam.

Don't feel they would ever try to get equal carries.

It's more about going with the hot hand, while having fresh legs.

I always agree with the hot hand approach regardless of who....heck if Fozzy got in a game and ripped one I would endorse feeding him some more

But there isn't much of a worry IMO about keeping guys fresh. A RB doesn't need the bench bc he had 8 rush attempts in a game
