I hope he doesn't get near 89 in the Ravens game. If so I see an epic meltdown coming that will make deangelo halls look tame. It might be the first on field shanking.....ha

They arent comparable. I dont recall Mitchell ever once acting like Norman. Nothing even remotely close. Mitchel was a physical player. Norman is just a poo talker.

I wouldn't mind if he didn't run his mouth after every. single. damn. play. I mean my god, he talks crap even after he gets burned. The difference between him and Mitchell is that Mitchell was aggressive and fired up and did it for the team. He never talked crap to anyone, he just beat them to the ground. His style of play benefited the defense in such a way that everyone else became aggressive and hyped up too. Norman just talks crap to feed his own ego.

They aren't the same.

Mitchell's mean streak and demeanor was something that fired the Defense up and was often a net positive. The price was the occasional flag, and I don't recall him killing us with penalties last year.

Norman's trash talking mentality is selfish and doesn't benefit the players around him. He is literally at risk for a personal foul, or trash talking penalty on every play he is out there. It's a me-first, entitled attitude that he hasn't earned through playing at a high level in meaningful games. If he could keep a better lid on it and build a reputation to back his trash talking up, it could be a very different career for him.

Right now Norman is our 4th or 5th best CB. Yet lets cut him so we can continue watching Godfrey run around like a headless chicken while another receiver burns him.

You can find a Norman caliber guy in cuts with out the BS....maybe better

Norman is still a good player i would give him one last chance, calm down or go away.

Good leadership by Davis!

And Norman must NOT play against Smitty.. Cason and White will do the job.

How can someone be good when all they have done is be horrible on Sunday

Norman is a special talent who obviously has a nose for the football.  His on field temperament has obviously reached some sort of culmination.  Whether this is a turning point for the positive or a ticket home has yet to be determined.

As someone who wants to Panthers to succeed and field the best team, I hope he is able to learn from this experience.  He truly is a talented young CB.  Eventually though, Rivera is out of second chances.  I just hope he isn't already at that point.

He wasn't pulled because of his play, but I get that mentioning that wouldn't fit the narrative.

Frankly to pull him for being mouthy is a little silly provided it isnt being detrimental to the team.

I thought it was detrimental. I also thought his behavior was silly. It's one thing to mouth off to an opponent, but to take it as far as he did...in a preseason game is just stupid.

However, to talk to TD the way he did is just insane and a quick way to find himself on the outside looking in. I love his talent and fire, but he has to learn to control himself.
