Why can't Godfrey go back to Safety?

Look at Godfrey's missed tackles....use PFF. Find someone worse since he arrived into the league. Anyone worse lost there job as a S and didn't keep there job like Godfrey did.

He isn't a S.

I said years ago he should be auditioned as a CB and if he couldn't do that be be gone. Which his where he is now.

 

this is false, we have you saying this and another in this thread saying nfl qb went after godfrey instead of sherrod martin and nakamura which is also baffling, and another saying the defense got better once Mitchell started even though for jump street the plan was for a godfrey/mitchell backfield, but mitchell was unable to play the first couple of games

 

you guys want pro-bowl players at every position but need to realize some positions only require solid play, which is what we've got from godfrey since 2010 imo

He did change systems. Rivera has a knack for getting a lot out of players that are otherwise not very good. Look at his #1 ranked charger defense

False. Godfrey has never been average. He was never better than Sherrod. I never said people didn't pick on our other crap safties....I just never pretended like Godfrey was better. Which he wasn't.

You don't need Pro Bowlers everywhere. You can't have liabilities....which Godfrey always has been.

Godfrey was always on par with Martin. Still not sure why people are still trying to convince themselves Godfrey isn't bad.

Saying he has been solid is like saying Kenjon Barner looks solid right now

half those safety's were playoff team safetys, with grant winning a superbowl, i rarely disagree with pff but i have to on this one if a guy has one bad game it will throw all there stats off, and i would have to see what they consider a missed tackle

 

according to this there were worst safety's starting on playoff teams then godfrey

Godfrey hasn't looked good to me. The only reason he makes the team in my mind is that versatility and veteran savvy. 

 

Godrey has no veteran savvy. He's looked lost from rookie year to this day.

Now all of a sudden Godfrey is a good option? Yeah he can lay the wood every now and then, but his whole career he has been terrible at coverage. You know, the main job for a safety? Now he's even worse after injury.

Care to give me any examples? Cause Rivera never took a horrible player and made him good
