Why can't Godfrey go back to Safety?

How many games did Josh Thomas start from 2008-2013? Keep being satisfied with mediocrity. I'm just glad Gettleman won't pay bums like Godfrey huge million dollar contracts in the future.

Well, you were referring specifically to last season, so that's what I addressed.

Is Roman Harper not the definition of mediocre? Robert Lester? Who do you want to start this season if you're so over this "mediocrity?"

That's the problem here. People say Godfrey sucks but who on the roster now is better??

What was he even doing there if he had a different assignment? Funny it started happening less and less after he got hurt.  Also, the players we acquired this offseason have better track records than the ones we signed last year.  For some reason though, everyone is being stupid negative.  Our safeties and deep pass defense were weak up until last year.  Godfrey was our starting safety up until week two of last year.  I just don't get why you and other dude cannot see that.  Why would you want to go back to that mediocrity?

 

since you know more then coach Rivera this argument is moot........clearly didn't watch last season this continued to happen more as the season progressed, do you not remember the dolphins game, do you not remember the tampa game, what about the saints game? mediocrity, so you rather have Lester and Russel start because that's what your insinuating, harper is bad at coverage and sucked last year on the 5th rank defense, also he's injured. this waiting for teams to cut good players is a pipe dream that happens once in a blue moon so keep waiting for the next Kam Chancellor to be cut

I would search the waiver wire for a ball hawking safety. Seems the staff likes a power hitter. I like Godfrey better than all the current SS options. If nothing clearly better, he should earn a backup safety and nickle spot.

yea, you think you will find a ball hawk on the waiver wire?  Maybe Ed Reed, but there are so few in this league they dont just get dropped unless they are injured.  But if you see one available, I would love to be proven wrong here.

MAYBE Decoud.  I would rather see Godfrey and Decoud than Harper any day of the week.  Talk about slow and bad in coverage.  But let the wannabe know-it-alls tell us who we should have out there, I havent seen one solution to all these little girls whining problem.

who thought Anderson Russel played well?  or who could even tell?  at least it is the safety position, one of the least important positions if you ask me.  just need two guys to keep themselves between the ball and the end zone, and let the other 9 guys make the plays.

Godfrey is that close in numbers and he missed all last year. Nice try comparing 3 years to 2. Let's try to be fair and use common sense when comparing numbers.

Now if we take out the year where Charles only played 2 games and put in 2010 (a full season). Godfrey has 74 more tackles 8 more PDF and 5 more int's.

So that's 239 tackles 23 PDF and 9 int's.

And looking at his numbers from 2010 or, in fact, any numbers from before 2013, is a waste of time because he's not the same player he was then, just as Harper isn't the same player he was in 2010. I just found it funny how you said to check the stats as if Godfrey would come out so far ahead. I also generally find it funny when people think that traditional statistics are the tell all, end all when it comes to evaluating football players.

Roman did play in 9 of a 16 game regular season. If my math is correct that is more then 50% of the season.

Godfrey 2 of 16 doesn't seem like the same thing.

You said it was unfair to compare stats from a season where Godfrey missed seven more games than Harper so you substituted that season's stats with those from his full season in 2010 and compared them to Harper while still including the season where he missed seven games.

Waiting to see who's a better option other then Godfrey from the football gurus.........barring the second coming of Jesus himself being cut he's the best option on the roster at ss healthy so far

He played in more the 50% of the games and he also lost his job during the season which might have cost him some games.

Godfrey actually played in 1.5 games due to being injured. Not the same situation.

But you're the one who tried to pass off a stat comparison without the caveat of Godfrey only played in 2 of the 3 season im comparing.
