2 police officers shot in North East Charlotte

Brandon Jamorris Brewer, 27, is in police custody in connection with the shooting.

In a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Police Chief Rodney Monroe said, "It's a very lucky day that nobody is dead and nobody seriously injured."

Police said a 10-year-old girl was home with a sibling when Brewer knocked on the door. According to police, Brewer pulled out a shotgun and shot through a window.

Police said the 10-year-old has superficial injuries and will be OK.
