USAToday: Cam is "one of the NFL’s most electric players/took a huge jump last season"

I'm not sure I agree about the huge jump.

Cam has seen a constant steady progression of his game.

That progression resulted in wins last year.  I agree that he's steadily progressed but national media didn't notice until last year because they weren't winning before that.

The defenses progression resulted in wins last year. Cam was never the problem.

Funny, how the defense the national media touts so much now, could barely be mentioned Newton's first two years, when they were costing the Panther wins at the end of games.

Now, if the Panthers have another great year, and the offense produces, will Newton have/take another "huge jump" in consecutive years (or did the WR group last year REALLY Suck, unlike what the media told us)??

Wasn't our defense top 10 two years ago? I think Cam did show improvement with game winning drives and fumbling this year, which was a big help.

Regardless of what the defenses overall ranking was in 2012, they cost the Panthers several games at the end, by not holding leads Cam and the offense gave them. So yes, they were the problem.

This is where, you have to actually watch or remember (in case you forgot) the games.

Note: I mentioned "watch" for the national media, not you.

How dare you insult the national media by suggesting they do their jobs.

That's true. But Cam did struggle 4th quarter of close games in the redzone his first two years. I think his improvement there is notable and a plus. Also, the decrease in fumbling was a plus. I think there was notable improvement last year.

Also, my stat was off. It doesn't seem like we were top ten in any meaningful statistic in 2012 that I can see.

They ended the season with a top ten defense, they struggled mightily during the start of season. The Panthers went from 24th to 9th I believe, which was all thanks to Kuechly.

One thing they may have gotten wrong is I don't think Smith and Cam where close at all. I think that that Cam and K.B are tighter in three months then Smith and him ever where.Smith was never tight with anyone on this team that I can remember.....weird bird. Another media misconception from those who are not closely watching this team.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
