Adam Schefter makes the world aware we have zero receivers that caught a pass from last year

Yeah, but it's already a well known fact. So why keep repeating it, beating a dead horse?

You don't think people who follow Schefter on twitter already know this (especially since he's said it previously)?

If he wanted to say "keep an eye on the Panther WR's tonight, because they're all new", then why not just say that instead?

That's easy (and brings a different context to the statement).

Well, it is a pretty remarkable fact - that's a lot of turnover in a single offseason. It doesn't happen often.

I suppose he could have framed it better, but come on people. It's one tweet from one guy.

Yeah, but that would be pre-suppossing the fact that the Panthers receivers were actually any good last year.

They were let go for a reason. But somehow this/that aspect is repeatedly overlooked by national media.

Notice the disconnect between Panther fans, and the national media when it comes to the receiver situation?

Nonetheless, I get you on the one tweet aspect. But what do you expect from a fan site hours before the Panthers 2nd, and arguably most important Pre-Season game? Lol

It's actually a slap against Cam.

The recent media hysteria, presumes that the Panther receivers were so great that year (when it was Cam that revived both Smiths and Ginn's career).

Would they be acting this way, if it was Andrew Luck, or any other QB with a new set of receivers?

Anyone who watched the Panthers last year, knows the WR and OL didn't always do Cam any favors, but he still found a way to make plays. Plus, Olsen was the teams leading receiver (due to WR deficiencies), and last that I knew, he was still on the team.

Hopefully, both the receivers and TE group, along with the OL will be an improvement this year.

I know. I'm just anxious to see them dance around their own logic when Cam succeeds with this group. I doubt they'll Cam give credit. They'll give it to KB or the OL that "stepped it up" for the sake of the team. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with others getting credit. But the media's intent is to slight Cam.

It's not like these guys weren't catching passes last season at all. You'd think we're going with four UDFA's.

yea! oh wait...

So ESPN viewers will be surprised by the Panthers this season.

ive been wondering about this theory for a while. what if that is the story they want to forward this season? "Carolina surprises for the second year in a row", "Carolina overcomes the odds to pull out successful season", etc. they are talking down a Panthers team that they know will still be competitive. and for what reason? ratings probably. this train of thought competes against the obvious bias that the media has towards all Carolina sports, so i dont know what to believe.

Schefter is a word I can't use here.

i prefer the usage: "What the schefter?!"

It's actually a slap against Cam.

actually i think it has little to do with Cam. the sports media hates the Carolinas. they give us the shaft and deride our teams at every available opporunity. people can speculate the reasons behind this, but it is obvious that the media hates the small Carolina market.

I firmly believe we are better off with the receivers we have

the world will soon know this fact

It's also geared in the media because it hasn't been done before that they know of. It's very much unknown territory.

None of them want to go out on a limb by saying we can improve, even though the Panther passung attack from last season was nothing to boast about. So why should have the Panthers spend money they don't have retaining a weak passing attack?

in 2011 we had a rookie QB throwing to new (to him) receivers including two TEs who were new to the team and all of them were playing in a new system and a new playbook and all of it was happening withput the luxury of OTAs. correct ke if i'm wrong, but that QB did fairly well.

i think we'll be ok.

The funny thing is that the guys we have don't even have to do much to look better than the crap we had last season that still managed to help us to a 12-4 record.

I'm taking KB-Cotchery-Avant-King all day over 34yoSmith-LaFell-Ginn-Hixon

Plus, we have Olsen-Dickson-Williams over Olsen-Hartsock-Brockel
