Pat Kirwan's take on the Panthers

Not to me. Wharton is quite possibly a top 5 guard.

I was thinking Pat thought he could go both ways, He's a space eater on either side...... And no I'm not serious just laughing at the lack of proof reading.

"There's some skepticism about the depth of the Panthers' defensive line, since none of the backup linemen have ever started an NFL game. But after talking to Travelle Wharton, it is clear the team could always move him back to tackle if someone gets hurt."

Kirwan delivers as usual. Thought a couple things were really cool like the bit about having no fat guys (!!!) and that they go harder at each other than teams at other TCs he's been to. Love his take on the OL backups and Brown as well. Kirwan has the eye of a former GM so I listen.

Yeah Travelle was interviewed yesterday and they were talking about what would happen if Otah was hurt during the season at which point Pat speculated that Gross would go to the right side and Wharton would go left. Or if Gross got hurt, Travelle would move over. The conversation was that while we are thin with experience on the O-line, our guys are versatile and can play multiple positions so that injuries won't be the devastating factor it might appear to be if someone got dinged up.

I love this:

Surprise, surprise

This team doesn't have any fat guys and the players are in tremendous shape. They practice in full pads a lot, and they get after each other more than most teams. Full contact is normal and, as Fox said to me over lunch, "You have to play football to get in football shape."
