Like it or not the Panthers are built so tight loosing Smith for a significant amount of time would mean the difference between being a talented playoff competitive team to being 7-9. See 04... I believe they are better built now with the running game, but I can't get passed loosing Steve would cost games.

I agree. Without Smith this team is mediocre at best. But keep him out of the preseason, let him sit around and stay pissed off, and I think he'll be ready for the opener.

damn, steve smith hurt and the season is already over!?!? seriously!?!? I know our schedule is the second toughest in the league, but by the end of the season that could, and very well, will drop down anywhere to the 10th 15th, or the 25th toughest schedule, every season is different. remember, 06 we went to 8-8 with a healthy smith and delhomme. :chillpill:
