Addressing the parking.....

The bar that I am working with, Draught, owns about 1/2 of that lot for all of the games. They aren't selling any of their spots - instead we have invited people we personally know who have really good tailgates (all Panthers fans) to come have those spaces. There are about 6 or so total groups in the area. So that's how I was able to get spots for the Huddle. We will have two spots for the set up and I'm almost 100% sure the two spots we'll have are next to a no parking area (because there's a dumpster fenced in) so we will have that area, too, as overflow. So it's basically like 3.5 spots.

The other 1/2 of the lot is managed by a parking attendant. Last week he was telling people that the lot is sold out for the season. I'm not sure how accurate that is because later I saw him letting random cars in. Maybe it was because it wasn't filling up for the preseason game. Regardless, that lot is very expensive ($35) and there are many better options for parking right around there. The one right across Cedar st was a "no tailgating" lot and it was $20. Like Boo said, if you go a little further down Moorhead towards 77 then there is free parking. So there are plenty of options nearby, just depends on what you want to do.

maybe you addressed this and i'm a dumbass for not catching it, but is the donation an annual type thing or what? if i drop money on a zod package, is that solely a contribution to kickstart this thing and i still need to donate/contribute for food each game? how does that work?

She plans on taking donations at each tailgate. But if you sponsor, especially at a Zod level, then you're in no way required to donate anything else.

I've talked to her about it quite a bit so I know the idea is to get sponsors/donations up front to create a budget for the season so that we can provide food, drinks, Porta-jon, etc... for the entire season. This tailgate is for the Huddle put on by Huddlers, so it's up to all of us who participate in the tailgate to keep it going and to not take advantage of the work that she is doing each week and to not freeload off of the food and drinks provided.

Boo can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure she's going to be pretty open to everyone about where we stand financially, how much sponsorship money was raised, how many donations were received each tailgate, etc.... and any money that is remaining at the end of the season will be donated to charity on behalf of the Huddle.

Sounds like a yearly thing.

Also, there was mention of a nekkid boo pic. Those are reserved for me.

I'm in for a Kraken Special.

If you donate to the initial, it would be included all season. Of course we would ask again down the road in the threads each week.

If you are donating now, you will be considered an "annual sponsor" by having your name on the banner and getting the Tshirt

Thanks for this. I was trying to figure out of I still needed to pursue getting parking for the season. Most games I bring my old Landcruiser and set up shop with my tailgate down. I have mobile power so I get my TV and PS3 set up for Madden. I also like to bring my stockpot and propane burner for the occasional Low Country Boil.
