At one time I wanted us to sign Nicks and Rice, because they have had a good career and would be cheap but Rice is done and Nicks is said to be out of shape so I feel happy we didn't sign them.

Ginn and Lafell were big reasons why our pass game was so bad. I know Cam would have had at least 200-400 more yards and maybe more TDs if they would have made more catches. I could say the same for Smith but I expected his production to drop due to age.

Andrew Luck

I wish we could go back and see how 99% of the huddle were creaming their pants and proclaiming this guy a god before he ever took a single snap in the NFL.

Luck has done pretty darn well, but I don't believe for a second that if he had come out and we drafted him, with the tools we had at the time concerning receivers and protection, he would have done even half as well here as he has done in Indy.

Cam stepped into a (shall we say...less than ideal) situation and made something of it. I don't imagine Luck being able to do the same with this team.

He conveniently failed to mention that to anybody on the planet until the Panthers cut him.

He actually said that playing until 2014-15 was his plan bc of his son graduating when he signed his last extention. He said it when he was a studio host on WFNZ. So it bypassed other media statements bc it was in casual convo.

What a bunch of Judas on this board, I hope you feel better about yourselves kicking Steve Smith on his way out. Don't bother cheering him when we play Baltimore or tuning in for his retirement ceremony, you don't deserve it.

I have nothing but love and respect in my heart for Mr Smith.  He will always be one of favorite Panthers ever and I genuinely hope that he joins Mr Mills outside of the stadium.

All of that said, it was time for him to go. And I'm glad the team had the intestinal fortitude to make the decision I never would have been able to.

And lest you forgot SF didn't love Joe Montana any less for putting on KCs colors nor did the stint in Arizona diminish the love Dallas fans have for their Mr Smith.
