Cam Newton's Huddle Up: Episode 2

Recommended Posts

Cam getting kicked out of Florida was probably the best thing for both Cam and the Panthers.  It kickstarted an accelerated growth of him as a person and forced him to realize just how precious his opportunity was and to buckle down and get serious about it.  We all know what happened after that.

Back-to-back national championships, Heisman (along with like every other major college award), one of the greatest college seasons ever, 1st overall pick, greatest QB rookie season ever.

What Cam found out during that setback to rock bottom is something some athletes still haven't realized yet.

And also... who knows if he stayed at Florida he might not have even declared for the 2011 draft after sitting behind T-bow all that time and we missed drafting him altogether... and who knows who the hell we would've took that year at #1 overall. :(

The media knows that Cam is a class act. Why? Because at the age of 18, he didn't make excuses for his mistakes but instead re-evaluated his life and turn things around by going through the fire. IMO, that is what true humility is. Those in today's media are more than happy to make excuses their chosen QBs like Griffin, Luck and others. While acting like Cam needs endless humbling  every time he does something they don't like. It's like they want to take some credit for where he is today.

Behind all of that swag lies a young man who is as humble as they come. It's a shame we're not encouraged to see him in that light.  I would much rather learn from a kid who has been through the fire  and humbled by life, than one who is painted as "humble" by today's media.

Think about it, He was at the age where young men are still knuckle heads, 18/19.  Yet, he learned from his mistakes.
