Jonathan Stewart says Panthers have DEEPEST and BEST backs in the NFL

Its just silly.

Thats one thing I have learned this camp after spending more time with the media. If it were a court room, it would be leading the witness objections all day long.

Instead of asking "What are your thoughts on the rb's" its "Do you think the rb's are the deepest and best in the NFL"

Reporters are framing their questions so the answers fit within th bye article they are writing. Watch for an article soon on how deep the panthers RB corp is.

I tend to ask open ended questions, allowing the players to talk. For instance with Josh Norman in the locker room it was "Talk to me about the interception" and not "So you jumped the route on the reciever and made a great play, right? "

Maybe I am doing it wrong, but it seems more genuine if these guys just talk on their own without much prodding.

I've talked to many reporters/journalists and am always curious. What % of anything do these guys get in to that is off the record and more or less goes unreported.

A good tip i learned from someone in the AP was to ask them how they made the play while performing their reads, responsibilities, etc and if the play was practiced against. This is great for fan consumption as it let's the reader feel as if they are one with the player and this gives the player the chance to show his football IQ and stroke his ego.

i think stew has the potential to have an excellent year. he'll probably play week one, and it's worth noting that last year's injury was pretty much unavoidable (taking a knee to the helmet like he did isn't a toughness issue, it's physics and anatomy.)

if he comes out and has a good year, he'll have backed up his words.
