Stewart on the practice field

Stewart has missed 19 of 96 games. 17 over the past 2 seasons.

Thomas Davis has missed 26 of 128 games.

DeAngelo Williams has missed 17 of 128 games

Charles Johnson has missed 19 of 112 games

Ryan Kalil has missed 26 of 112 games.

Get rid of them all. What a waste of talent and a draft pick. You can never count on them. Oh wait. They come back stronger when they heal up. Let me rethink this.

first is this since 2008?

and let's not act like TD wasn't one injury away from getting release, the different between the rest is they had season ending injuries.......stewarts is spread out over 4 seasons while d will, kalil both had season ending injuries and you failed to list the games he missed this pass season.......don't tell a half story

No one making Cam excuses though....just Williams ones.

Seattle did nothing that game offensively.....Williams gave them the one score and forced us into a comeback

what kind of debate is this......are you really trying to prove one persons mistake cost us the game............any professional coach will tell you never lose a game because of one player

this was painful to read......Stewart was a better fit with chuds offense....the same guy our players ran out of here because he got too cute with play-calling, same guy who gets fired after one season.

d will is the better fit now with Shula's o, Stewart ran the read option better then Williams......come on that's false Williams most explosive plays come from the read option(49ers,Atl 2013)

The same Rivera who started nakmura and fua, coaches make mistakes

Stewart was a better fit in Chud's.

Stewart also is a better fit in a power run scheme with poor blocking than a 31 year old version of Williams that goes down on contact

Stewart is much better than Williams at read. It hurts to watch Williams do it. Cam also gets annoyed. Stewart is consistently good at running it with Cam. Williams isn't.

Arguing a 31 year old Williams fits this current scheme and talent better than a healthy present day 28 is just silly. Tolbert fits it better than Williams too. It isn't about the big play it is about getting the yards consistantly. Williams isn't built for it presently.

Team sport. Yes. Williams fumbles were HUGE. Anyone that watched those games will tell you that.....it was what it was.

Josh Norman technically didn't lose the Buffalo game for is by leaving a WR wide open as time expired. Team lost. But we can start be conversation with him....just like DWill when we play Sea

this is borderline ridiculous, unless your Cam please show me where he has stated he gets annoyed also the proof that Stewart is better at the Read Option

most running plays constructed in the nfl are built for touchdowns so saying it isn't about the big play is false, and if that's the case they would have released Williams years ago......also if it's about consistently getting yards why are we drafting scat backs instead of bulky stewart clones?

arguing that a guy who can't stay on the field is better then a 31 yr old Williams is silly, your living in what if land

or we could start the convo with lukes pi, or bell's career record 100th sack given up in 3 seasons

i will give you the 2013 game but 2012 was not as much on him as 2013 game

Jonathan Stewart came in to help lead the Panthers to the playoffs in 2008, He racked up 1000+ yards in 2009. He held the RB position down in 2010 with DeAngelo out. He anchored Cams rookie season in 2011. He played up untill week 11 of 2012 before his injury.

He came back in week 8 of 2013 and played until injury in week 13.

So, he missed 1/3 of 2012 and half of 2013. Stewart has never missed a full season like all the others I listed earlier. Stewarts injuries took him out of games these past 2 seasons - not 4 seasons.

Stewart came to us with a nagging injury and he played through it each season extremely well.

I think some of you want to hate him so much you think it is worse than it actually is, and fail to realize the other players who have missed more games that you are not asking to be cut. Then again you probably were asking for them to be cut when they were out and now you are fine since they are playing.

please read before you you make these assumptions, your are comparing his injured seasons to guys who have been in the league longer that's why i said since 2008. There's a big difference getting injured when you don't affect the cap as much oppose to when you do

again Williams missed 2010, Kalil missed 2012, Johnson missed 2 games last seasons besides that these guys have been relatively healthy.....your initial argument has nothing to do with what we were discussing and is a different topic in itself, no one hates stew or wants him to be cut,but the guy is not the best rb on the team

GMan is gonna roll with who coach prefers....and a healthy Stewart in 2011 was his primary RB. In 2012 Williams was then benched in name (not just playing second fiddle in reps).

Then....Stewart got hurt. Williams moved back up bc of injury.

Stewart gets healthy and the trend goes back to what was starting in 2011 and 2012

It would be better for DWill if Stewart took most of the snaps anyway.  I like the idea of DWill running fresh.

Go back and watch the reads....Newton has gotten annoyed at Williams in games bc Williams often snatches the ball.

As far as Stewart being better at zone reads....he simply is. Watch old games.
