Stewart on the practice field

I think he's easily the best when healthy. His ability to make guys miss and/or run them over is huge behind an offensive line like ours. Throw in his receiving ability and pass blocking skills and he's superior to DeAngelo especially with DeAngelo's age.

i really don't know how you could say that, even when he was healthy him and d will were neck and neck

stew is the better receiver but rb no

When Stew was healthy and a younger back, him and DeAngelo were definitely pretty evenly matched. Behind a young/inexperienced line that struggles to get much of a push, I'm taking his skillset and power running over DeAngelo. When we need tough yards we have to be able to rely on Stew and Tolbert.

Williams is now 31....you are talking 4-5 years ago they were neck and neck.

Plus you factor in playing a power run game behind a bad OL. Stewart is better at getting away from the first tackler....which is huge

I think Stew is better, and has been for a while now.  He's the better blocker, receiver, and put up similar stats with less touches than D-Will.  That trademark J-Stew stiffarm (which we haven't seen in forever) was deadly.

Granted, he can't be the better back if he's never on the field, but talent-wise... yeah, Stew > Williams.

and your referring to a guy who hasn't played healthy in years.............Stewart is the better receiver and breaks more tackles that's the only true advantage i can give him over Williams, Williams has had the most yards rushing since 2010 between the 2, but i think stew was injured a couple of those years so it's hard to compare

Ummmm, Stewart has played injured since his college days. Last year was just a streak of bad luck. Prior to 2013, Jonathan had been more reliable than DeAngelo. I don't know how this is even debateable. Stewart is the most rounded RB on our squad (speed, power, agility, vision, athleticism, blocking, receiving, etc). On top of it all, Williams is 31. There's no question who G-Man is gonna roll with.

GMan is gonna roll with who coach prefers....and a healthy Stewart in 2011 was his primary RB. In 2012 Williams was then benched in name (not just playing second fiddle in reps).

Then....Stewart got hurt. Williams moved back up bc of injury.

Stewart gets healthy and the trend goes back to what was starting in 2011 and 2012

you guys have been saying this for years"d will is getting cut this year", "d will june 1st cut" it's not who g-man is rolling with it's Rivera .............j stew has never been more reliable then williams,he's been healthy 2 seasons he's been here.

again Stewart has the edge in receiving, blocking, and power........that's about it

The key word here is, and I see a lot of you using which makes me laugh really really hard, "when healthy". It's the only thing he's not and has not been in the longest time. Since the 2008 season when he got his fat paycheck by Hurndog, he hasn't been healthy.

Saying the phrase is asinine. When healthy. When healthy. He's not, so stop it already. He's not healthy, there for he is not the best back. Tolbert is and he's a FB. D-will is our best back to date without question, for the simple fact that he IS healthy.

At this point Stewart coming back healthy is a luxury, he's getting paid too much money to dump right now. If he comes back, well it's about damn time. Everyone wants him to come back healthy, I do too, but I'm not going get my hopes up like most of you do every year just for him to get his panties in a bunch and end up in the pup list or IR.

someone gets it......were talking about a guy who's been getting paid to not practice or play compared to guy who AT least is on the field trying to earn his money(still a big contract)but at least he plays
