More Darrin Reaves?

how did you guys determine we have no run blocking in one pre season game were the starters only played limited time? Also against a great defense. You need to understand that the team you play does make a diff, also you have to wear a D out to get huge lanes. that is something you just cant do in pre season. The truth is we have a better interior line this year then last but we dont know how that will look in a full game. Sure reaves looked good but lets not blame the ol for lack or run game against a good line like the Bills. There really is no reason to get crazy either way, just watch individual play and see who you like. These games mean nothing and we didnt even start cam, just say if you like this guy or that guy but dont start bashing guys on pre season play. our team could very well be a beast running this year and we dont know it yet.

We had no run blocking last year.....we know most of the OL pretty well.

Also, Turner is a raw rookie....yet somehow people are penciling him in 2014 as an immediate upgrade.

Same with Amini....he has never put in the work to assume he will provide better play than Wharton gave us. Wharton improved us last year when Amini went down.

Tackle no question is weaker

Didn't see this article posted yet, but thought it would fit.

I could see Reeves getting some carries if J.Stew falters or stays injured.  Barner has had opportunity to seize a bigger part of our offense and isn't doing it.  I think Barner had rookie jitters last year and can step up this year, but Reeves is definitely nipping at his heels.

we have one player returning to the line in the same spot, maybe 2 if bell goes back. You have one person to blame that run game on, so i guess we get rid of our probowl center, that should do it. There really isnt any proof of how we will be yet, so it could go either way. we will know soon enough and i choose to hope the team succeeds instead of bashing them for not having 1st round talent at every spot. This line is going to get better, they will all learn. they are not full of all pros but they can get it done. one thing we know for sure is that this OL will not be last years OL, other than that we just dont have data yet.

Worked Friday so just catching game now and I must say Reaves is 10x the NFL RB than Barner. Was hoping it was an overreaction on Barner but after watching I concur with the criticisms.

Barner has yet to gain the strength he needs to break the first wave of tacklers, which goes back to his days at Oregon. The thing is, his greatest strength - speed, agility - isn't as great as it should to be successful in the NFL. Unless Shula realizes that he needs to be used as more of a receiver, then his time is coming to a close.

Reaves on the other hand showed some great toughness and enough athleticism to warrant and NFL roster spot. I saw a player who could, at the least, provide some solid consistency whenever he has a chance.

Yes it's early, but I think we've seen what we're going to get with Barner and the way I look at it, if we had to rely on either one of these guys, then I would take Reaves every time.

So you mean pass to a guy that dropped everything that came his way? He's not the scat back he was drafted to be because he has stone hands. No thanks.

I just meant he needs to be used in a different way to be part of this team. Even then I don't like his outlook

That seemed to be a case of Bell not getting inside leverage on his block and Ed Dickson blocking like my Great Aunt Priscilla. That was a good look at the problem, there.

Bell was the only guy on that play to do anything adequately.
