It would have been funny had he not been begging for attention the whole game. I mean I love the guy but let the other players get some tv time too, I mean damn lol

A lot of NFL players photobomb and joke around on the sidelines! Aaron Rodgers is notorious for messing with other guys during interviews and photo ops. It happens everywhere.

This...this is why we can't have nice things.

Basically you're assuming in your post that Cam's excitement for his team, teammates, and overall leadership he was showing was him begging for attention. Damn, smart dude knowing the cameras were focusing on him the whole time. How dare he try to steal the thunder of his fellow teammates by congratulating them and having fun. THE HORROR.

Do they all run out on the field jumping and slinging a towel around after every play? or nah?

Leadership is not shown by showboating.

I am almost 54 years old, and that's about 50 seasons of football watching under my belt. High school, Pop Warner, College or Pro, I have never seen another player whose transparent love of the game is so readily apparent as Cam Newton's is. For me, part of the fun in watching Panther football these days is seeing the player who is unarguably the most vital cog in the machine reveling in the game and the successes of his team mates. I don't think he detracts from anyone else's spotlight at all. If anything, I think it shows how much this team embraces the concept of winning TOGETHER, because TOGETHER is the only true recipe for success in a sport that is the ultimate team game. Party on, Wayne! Party on Garth!...and Party on, Cam!

And if he just stood on the sidelines emotionless you would say he needs to be coaching up and encouraging the young guys.

Quit trying to fit Cam into the idea of what YOU think a QB should be and appreciate him for what he is, because he's the best thing to happen to this franchise in 20 years.

We also have to remember: Cam wasn't playing, and it was the first PreSeason game.

He had to have a lot of unbridled, stored up energy.
