Here is why Kelvin Benjamin should be every Huddler's favorite player in 2014

We have been pounded over the head again and again and again by ESPN and all Big Sports Media about how "CAM HAS NO ONE TO THROW TO! GETTLEMAN ISN'T GIVING CAM THE TOOLS HE NEEDS TO SUCCEED! THE PANTHERS ARE GOING FROM FIRST TO WORST THIS YEAR WITH NO STEVE SMITH LOLOLOLOMGHAHAHA"

Just like these tools were wrong about how Cam would do in the NFL, I want every smug asshole on TV to have to eat their words when Kelvin Benjamin has a great year this year. I want them humiliated. When KB catches circus catch after circus catch for touchdowns this year, I honestly hope Cam and the receivers remember which analysts said what about them and intentionally rubs their faces in it. Has there not been at least one big thread on here every single week this offseason about another big-time name predicting how badly this team would suck this year because of the receivers? God I want Kelvin Benjamin to keep this up so much, if he's Rookie of the Year this year, we should be naming our children after him and Dave Gettleman.

we need to improve the run game to help Benjamin be successful. he might still have alot of catches and TDs and i hope he does regardless, but he will draw double teams if our run game cant be at least adequate.

i still think the run game will be fixed, at least with the first team. and even if it doesnt, i was impressed with the pass protection last night. giving Cam as much time as we gave all the QBs last night will result in completions or successful QB scrambles. i cant believe i am saying this but the Panthers have alot of receiving weapons. between the TEs and top 4 WRs, just give Cam 3 seconds to throw the ball and i have a feeling someone will be open. and the greatest part is that they seem to be catching passes efficiently in traffic.

what i am trying to say is that even without the run game, i think the Panther's offense will be surprisingly productive. but it will help immensely if we can fix the glaring problems we saw last night.

Here's what it all boils down to. Let's assume that KB is going to be exactly what he appears to be this far. Let's assume that he's Calvin Johnson 2.0 or Andre Johnson 2.0. That's what we all want him to be right? The question with this team and the Carolina Panthers going forward is this.

Have they learned their lesson????????

You're probably wondering what lesson right?

We had a WR in Steve Smith for 98% of his career that was the best "undersized" WR that this league had ever seen!!What did the Carolina Panthers fail to do? They failed to get the man any help whatsoever! We has Moose and let him walk to Chicago.

If KB is what we think he will be, we will need to draft a bone fide #2 to help him and Cam get to that next level. IF* they do that, then they have learned their lesson. If they don't, well then, what's the difference going to be between the Smitty days and KB days?

I would like to hope that the franchise and a different FO will look at history and decide not to go that route.

So..... Your reasoning for Kelvin Benjamin being every Huddler's favorite player of 2014 is because the media has initially underrated him?

I want me an alt blue limited

Reppin' Huddle West

I've been looking and it's a real shame. Idk if it's the Panthers marketing fault or Nike. But there are only 2 or 3 players on our roster you can get all 3 colors for. The rest are all black. If you want another color, you have to customize it and pay the customization price which is really stupid. I have a blue Cam and black Kuechly. I'd like to add a white KB13 jersey.

My fear is what we see/saw is the same as what we're gonna get.

Everyone acts like we had some kind of fearsome running game last year, when we didn't.  What I saw last night wasn't unusual from what I've been seeing since Mike Shula took over at OC.

But you're 100% right that it damn well NEEDS to improve.

As much as I HATE The 49ers and Kaepernick, you gotta love the weapons he has at his disposal. Crabtree, Boldin, Stevie Johnson, and a plethora of young talent fighting behind them.

If I'm Cam, I'm jealous of that situation. I'm hoping that we're in the brink of building something so much better than that here in Carolina. We just have so many other priorities. We need to build that O-line for years to come to keep Cam safe. I hope they don't rely on Cams athleticism to get us by. I have the utmost faith in Cam, but continuing to ignore our O-line would be catastrophic in the future. Without that line you can't run or protect him. Next we'll have to replace our aging backfield; although with all Stews injuries he's almost like a 2nd year running back (I kid I kid). Then we need to draft some secondary studs to ensure our D-line can continue to be good for years to come.

It's not easy, and there will never be a right way to do it, but these are things that need to be done.

So basically, you're exactly like the national media, implying that Cotchery and Avant are a couple of bums despite having decent careers before they got here? No hope in King or Bersin ever being good?
