Brotherg, that is a very positive spin but the Panthers have lost Week 1 for three straight years under Coach Rivera. In 2012 they were completely out muscled in Tampa.

Week 1 of preseason so I don't care. If they suck week 3 then I might worry a little. Personally I like RR as a coach better than Fox. I was never a fan of "it is what it is".

I for one believe that as a former player Rivera knows how far he needs to push the players to get them ready and , if they are indeed ready why risk more contact ? It's nice to have a former player as a coach (unless your name is mike singltary)

More like half awake, not really paying attention. None of the guys were taking it very seriously.

Friendly, laid-back, players' coaches that don't push their teams hard and show up flat early in the season. Norv's team never showed up to play unless their backs were against the wall.

Can't say, I have never seen a Pats camp.

I have been to Panthers camp for the past decade and can only comment on that. Mostly its the CBA changing the way things are done. The rest is Rivera's style, he is much less a disciplinarian than Fox was.

I was actually going to ask you about this on the hotline for the next podcast. I was curious about the differences you noticed between the two camps. Well, I guess I have to think of another question now....

A relaxed camp can mean 2 things.

Players are being laz and coach doesn't care.

Or

Players are making plays when it counts and coaches give them some space.
