Honestly I wouldnt mind it.. 

 

We play IN TAMPA BAY where it will be insanely hot. Going top speed first real game of the season.. bound to be a hard game physically on the players body.

 

I wouldn't mind Derek starting or even Joe.. if we could play an efficient run game and game management. Its a long season. Having Cam get hurt would put a lot of uneasiness around the team first game of the season. Hope everyone stays healthy this opener.

I don't know why this was thread was even necessary. Rivera says that we will probably hold Cam out for a preseason game or two and people start to panic.

I'm responding to this in the vain the question being more Is D Anderson capable of filling in for Cam as opposed to will Cam be ready. This was the intent of the OP's question for those of you that have poor reading comprehension.

The answer to the question then is, although Cam is a better athelete, can extend plays and wills things to happen, as long as Anderson doesn't have to run for his life he is a better decision maker, a better passer and will do just fine.

Again, I say reading the FULL OP, the question is not about Cam. It is about Derek Anderson. The OP was just not worded very well in his question.

We don't have the #2 defense I wish people would stop saying that. We had the #2 defense last year. Right now we are unranked, just like the other 31 teams. Every team in our division is vastly improved on offense, this year will be even tougher on our D. They have to step up and try to match what they did last year. But right now there are no rankings.

Until proven otherwise, we have a weak supporting cast for a QB.

Good D or not....we need Cam to have a chance to win vs a stout Tampa D IMO
