Panthers will face former QB twice this year (Bucs name QB)

Lovie likes the experienced, recycled QBs.  When he was hired in Chicago, he inherited Rex Grossman, the first round pick from the year before.   He eventually switched to Orton and then traded 2 first rounders and Orton to Denver for Cutler.  He had to play Rex for a while because the team invested a first rounder, but I am sure Lovie is too old for a deja vu experience.

I thought this draft was loaded at QB.  I think you will find that Minnesota got the steal of the draft.

I kinda liked him under center.

Not going to light it up, but will hold his own for a few games.

Still no idea why they ditched Freeman so soon

Exactly why I think they'll win just enough to avoid picking at the very top of each round in the '15 draft, but nothing more.

Off topic and time will tell, but I think Minnesota's never ending QB woes will continue. Teddy B looks so weak and frail to me, and nearly every team (including the Vikes) passed on him at least once. Though he was thought to be the #1 pick for much of last year and seems to have a decent head on his shoulders, I think he'll be eaten alive in the dog eat dog world that is the NFL.

I disagree.

Teddy was the best QB in this draft, IMO, and I think that he will have a good career, but he does need to shorten his delivery and release.  He doesn't have the zip to have a slow delivery.

The bucs have a coach that is starting a 35-year old career backup and there were solid QBs throughout the draft--I use Minnesota to illustrate the point. It means to me that Lovie didn't want another rookie. They could have easily traded up to get Bridgewater, ranked the draft's best player by many outlets before the pro days.   How is that off topic?

Bridgewater is a qb who gets the game, of course, he could be injured.  I would not have him run much and he would have a stud line in front of him---something that is pretty solid now in Minnesota.

Gotcha. And even if it was off topic, doesn't bother me, I enjoy reading/discussing.

Coach Lovie Smith confirmed Mike Glennon will be the Bucs' No. 2 quarterback this season.

Should be 'at the start of this season'. He was supposed to be #2 last season too. If McCown hangs in and has a decent season and Smith thinks he can play 'til he's 40, I hope Glennon gets out of Tampa. He's good enough to start for the right team and that's not the Bucs, as long as they love Lovie.
