Our schedule is HORRIBLE

I think strength of schedule is the biggest non-worry fans have in today's NFL.  Look at our division alone--how many times have we seen a worst-to-first scenerio.

With the exception of about 5 consistent teams, you never know who's going to nose dive or rise up each season. That's one of the things that makes the NFL so great.  Everyone is one or two injuries away from 5 fewer wins, and one marginal player having a career year away from 5 more wins.

As said before, good teams win, bad teams lose.

Strength of schedule and uniforms..... much ado about nothing.

Im pumped for this schedule. Cam will get (but not seek) revenge from some tough teams. Most excited for the Chicago, Green Bay, and Seattle games. They were all painfully close losses. I don't believe the team makes the same mistakes it did years ago.

I'm on board with how the standings-based games are selected, just not the home/away on those. You lost me on the last part. So we're scheduled to play the NFC West again in 2016(Seattle Away), and 2019(Seattle home). Why can't we host them again before 2017, even if we finish the same?

Yeah because in 2015 (besides the NFCS) we play the NFC East and AFC South (all of them) as well as one team each from the NFC North (home) and NFW West (away) with the same division finish the previous year.

In 2016 we play the NFC west and AFC west (all of them) and one team from the NFC North and NFC NFC East.

That makes sense. I guess it just threw me off that the opponents are based on standings, but not the host. But I guess basing the venue on standings would leave a few teams with more or less home games. The system works.

Please explain the "mathematics" that goes into making an NFL schedule.

Sure. Where you finish in your division relates to who you play in the other two conference games you play. You know, place, as in a number. And the next ten years (I'd bet) are already set in stone as to who plays who and if it's a home or away game. Again, numbers. Maybe mathematics wasn't the best word to use as it confused you. Someone above said set rotation. That's a better word.

Sounds more like matching than mathematics to me.

The meat part is one bad bad mofo, a 4-1 start is almost a must. Given rons piss poor tack record of season starts, he must correct that this season. Unless he wants to get the hot seat back, digging a hole this year will be death.

I can't remeber the Panthers ever having an easy schedule. Even during our lame seasons, we never had an easy schedule.

Last season was suppose to one of the hardest schedules in the league.

So I just don't understand tge annual, "oh our schedule sucks" threads.

To be the best, you must beat the best.

Give us all the tough teams, it's not gonna matter.

We'll take them down one week at a time, or we'll lose.

Life goes on.
