Looking to get a midsized SUV for wifey.  After looking at multiple vehicle we kind a picked 3...

Acura MDX

Audi Q7

Volvo XC90

Any recommandations?

Wait on the new XC90.  It will be out winter or early spring of 2015.  It will be completely updated and has a  redesign.  Going to be awesome. It will be 2016 model.  Volvo did not make it in 2015.  If you decide on that , let me know.  I can hook you up.  We sell Volvo/VW/Porsche at my dealership.  Anyone looking for any of those brands let me know.  I can hook you up with a good deal.

hell yeah.  I drove down to Greensboro when I bought my last car.  I'll fly to Charlotte for the next one.  Cross country trip would be a great way to break in a new Macan.  :D

We will bring it to you and do the paperwork at your house.  On any of the brands.  The Macan is hot.  Remember me...I'll take care of you.

The pricetags on these cars, or most any new car these days... yikes. All great vehicles but I honestly have no idea how people stomach spending this much money on a car.

I agree.  I bought a new Ford Fusion for my wife a couple of years ago.  Its a great car, but I think we paid for a lot of extras that are mostly unnecessary.  For example, a couple of weeks ago, the TPMS (Tire Pressure Maintenance Sensor) died on the left rear tire.  We replaced it and fortunately, the warranty covered it, but if we had to pay out of pocket, it would have been a $160 bucks or thereabouts.  All so that we don't have to get out and actually look at the tires or check the tire pressure on a regular basis (something that I do anyway).  I guess I could just disconnect the thing if I had to pay for it myself, but still seems like something that isn't really necessary.   And I wanted to have a third key made, just in case we lost one.  As best I can remember, it was around a $100 bucks.   Little things like that add a lot to the price of a vehicle.

As I was working on replacing the starter on my Acura TL this morning, buying a new car crept through my mind for the first time in 2 years.

Gotta be honest, I have worked on lots of cars in my day, the vast majority being Fords and Chevy's.....some of the things that I had to get to today on that Acura were just dumb.

My Tahoe, 25 minutes to replace starter, alternator, etc....on the Acura.....1:45.
