Roster Projection - Preseason Week 1

I think Dockery makes the roster but other than that it looks good.

I agree.

They kept Dockery around last year because he showed the most promise of the young cornerbacks in 2012. I haven't seen him in camp like Zod but not hearing his name is typically a good thing for a cornerback during pass plays.

Gettis only played two preseason games, he didn't make the team because he got injured.

I don't mind Cason, but from what I understand he was never much of a returner, and we will be risking our #1 corner.

Honestly I'm hoping Pilares at least gets an opportunity and shows out a bit in preseason. Maybe you can shed some light on the matter, I'm a bit concerned about it. We need a spark on special teams again if we want to make another run this year. Every little bit helps.

Cason returned punts his final season at Arizona and brought 2 back for TD's. He does have some experience in the NFL but not much. I just don't like using him as a returner because he's our number 1 corner.

My personal preference would be to keep 5 WR's and go out and find a return specialist as number 6. Nothing worse than having special teams cost you a game due to a muffed punt or something.

Brockel vs. McNeill is an interesting, under-the-radar competition.

Both have a similar skill set, and were recently signed to similar 2 year deals (identical in structure, Brockel just got a bit more money).

I like the depth chart, but I feel we may take one less OL and keep another DB. Of course there will also likely be guys currently on other rosters as well.

Stewart is probably the number one back if he can stay healthy.  But right now, that is a big if.

With Godfrey coming off a major injury and playing a position that he hasn't played in a while, I don't really expect him to look good this early.  It will be interesting to see if he improves as the preseason progresses.
