...And the ONLY reason that I am mentioning a projected roster this early in the game now is to point out that it's about to get "real" here in a few weeks.  There are vets that we picked up, UDFAs that have really shown a lot of promise, and simply some names that have become quite norman---excuse me, "normal" that may not be around in 30 days. Hell, now Jeremy Igo and David Newton effectively have Tre Boston on the chopping block.  That's how close things are.

 

I don't know.  Perhaps it is indicative of the fact that our new GM is bringing in guys with more talent and potential. Perhaps it means that theoretically even our back-ups will be able to come in if necessary, fill in quite nicely and keep the ball rolling. It could be me, but the camp reports makes it seem like Dave Gettleman and Ron Rivera are going to have extraordinarily tough  decisions to make abut the roster this year.  It's going to be interesting to see how they view veteran leadership versus raw potential versus continued development and progress versus time invested in particular players.  Does it all come down to simple, logical business decisions? Does money come into play?

 

How does Bill Belichick (or someone else) play into their decisions when trying to "sneak" a player on the practice squad?

 

Will we jettison some vets and continue to go young if some of these youngsters like Darrin Reaves, Carrington Byndom, or even Michael Zordich imprints their showtime with talent?  Will the exercise bike mean that a player whom we are just taken for granted is literally pedaling to nowhere?  

 

It's a soap opera this year, for sure, not the snippet (concerning mainly David Gettis) that we had last year.  I'm looking forward to it.  Stay tuned!

It's crazy to think that they might actually have depth at corner. Need to keep as many db's on the team as possible, they are the best athletes on the field.

I think it could go either way, but I don't know that we will give up on him that easily, he's still a talented DE.

 

Not to mention he's still under his rookie contract through next season.
