Name one small tweak to make the game even better

Football is already the best of any sport out there, but it isn't perfect. What is one thing you would do to make the game even better? Small tweaks. Nothing crazy like Goodell is trying to do.

 

Me? I'd drop the play clock by 5 seconds. I think they did this in the Pro Bowl? I say that because though rather dull, soccer is 45 min of continuous action. Baseball won't cut to a commercial until the inning is over or there is a pitcher change. Other than WAY too many timeouts, basketball action only stops due to a foul.

 

But football is: play, stop, play, stop, play, stop, play, stop, play, stop etc. Sometimes it just kills the excitement. And don't get me started on the commercials. The worst is when they cut to commercial after a score, then show the quick kickoff, then cut back to commercial. Hate it. If we could just speed up the actual gameplay a tad it'd be perfect, IMHO.

Extreme change, but what if the game was played kind of like basketball where the clock is always running unless timeout.

The clock wouldn't stop for huddles or running out of bounds.

I like the direction the league is going with extra points. XP attempts are the most boring things in the game.

Also, a helmet cam. That would be sweet.

- To get a chance to challenge a penalty flag, 1 per game
